Mayweather vs. Pacquiao: Let the best man win

Floyd Mayweather JrBy @C1TheGoodFella: It’s almost here, just hours away and many people around the world have had some great valid points to make about the fight of the century between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. No doubt this fight will be on all minds tonight, tomorrow morning and beyond.

The issues that are concerning me are the reason why general people are choosing a certain fighter Pacquiao to win.

Reason 1.) Because of his faith and values, but this is the same man who is a politician and in “HBO Documentary” admitted to past mistakes and so forth “Problems with Jinkee his wife and so forth” and we should not judge, we are all human and make mistakes.

Mayweather Jnr can be seen on many previous “24/7 Episodes” possessing the same complete faith in God and does tons of charity work taking action to create positive change in the world. Regarding his religious beliefs he has shown to pray devoutly in the past and must now choose not to declare/show this aspect of his life as has much at this point in his life, but this does not mean it does not occur. Pacquiao backers for this reason are probably not enlightened to the point that they are both very religious people who rightfully thank God first and foremost after every victory speech that I have heard, but to be honest, should this have an affect on peoples choice for the winner? It’s a boxing fight not a religious crusade isn’t it?

REASON 2.)Manny Pacquiao is a good Role Model!

Floyd and Pacquiao are only human, we are all on the learning road in life but at the end of the day, boxing is a business and if you ask any professional boxer, past and present about selling tickets and they will tell you its is very difficult and stressful thing to do along with juggling your training and other life responsibilities, so Mayweather’s solution to be a showman has taken him a very long way to the top, I’m sure he behaves very differently off camera, like any other regular WWE wrestler.

Its all very planned and deliberate on Floyd’s part, to be controversial, have character and play the bad guy to sell tickets. No different to the Undertaker in wrestling or Rampage Jackson in UFC for that matter, showmanship sells fights and that’s another thing the young boxers of today are learning in the difficult game of pro boxing.

Floyd Money Mayweather knows how we, the general public are with glamor, hype, character and brashness and how we buy into that stuff.

Either way we “the general public” wants the person like Mayweather Jr. to prosper or flounder, as it generates some kind of feeling inside I call the “Marmite affect”. Love it or Hate it, you will want to watch him and you have to admire the courage of someone willing to take that stand and choice in life.

Some examples of showman who have succeeded; WWE stars Hulk Hogan, The Rock, John Ceina, Boxing legends Ali, Nas, Hector Camacho, Chris Eubank, Roy Jones, James Toney and most recently Adrien Broner. Mayweather has rightfully created a brand, a groundbreaking brand that consistently generates a global media buzz and he always sets market trends and creates new business.

Mayweather Jnr appears to me to be the smartest of all boxers past and present, as it is “Prize Fighting” and when its all said and done. He has consistently got the “Highest Prize” and he did not need to push the fact that he was all about God as actions speak louder than words. We are not there to see all of his actions, GOD is. Amen

Its not about good vs. evil, right vs. wrong, cocky vs. humility. It’s about one of the BEST defensive boxers of all time, vs one of the BEST attacking fighters of all time. Period.

LETS HOPE IT DELIVERS.

Peace & Blessings C1
