Both Pacquiao and Mayweather Camps Working Hard To Find Deal

floyd98By Antonio Bufalino: Yesterday, Manny Pacquiao was updated on the ongoing negotiations for a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr, Per RingTV.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. has recently fallen under criticism after ESPN Dan Raefel said last Friday, “As far as I know it’s been one-way traffic on Manny’s side trying to make it. As I understand it, Les Moonves is in contact with the Mayweather camp and not getting anywhere.”

Rumors have spread far and wide while both camps remain extremely tight-lipped on the negotiation process; however, Michael Koncz, Pacquiao’s adviser, has recently provided some insight for those thirsting to know what is happening on the inside. According to what he has updated Pacquiao on, the negotiations are far from being one-sided.

“We’re still in negotiations with Floyd’s group through Top Rank. I spoke to Manny this morning. I gave Manny what is perceived to be a counter offer from the Mayweather people,” Koncz told RingTv.

“There’s been offers and counter offers, and a couple of days ago Bob called me and gave me allegedly where Floyd’s side is, and I discussed that with Manny two hours ago,” Konz said. Now I’ve given Bob our response to that.”

Pacquiao’s side has expressed how they will push for a 60/40 split. Even though Pacquiao has said he would fight for free, Top Rank and those looking out for his best interest will make sure he won’t be taken advantage of and will receive somewhat of a fair deal. M

Mayweather’s side is most likely giving offers lower than 60/40 while Pacquiao’s side is probably asking for splits higher than 60/40. As negotiating usually works, both sides will continue to counter until they find a happy medium. A split close to 60/40 would be fair for both.

To hear the camps are active in communicating and working hard to find a deal is a very positive report as we enter into the new year. You can read the full RingTV article here: http://ringtv.craveonline.com/news/372861-adviser-manny-pacquiao-being-updated-on-floyd-mayweather-jr-talks
