Hennessy says he would even have the 24-year-old Fury put off his title shot plans and face Price first if he really wants the fight.

Hennessy told BBC Sport “If Price really genuinely wants to fight we will put out world title plans on hold and we will make the fight…That is a fight that Tyson will look absolutely sensational in and he’ll take David Price apart…He’s a novice compared to Tyson.”

For his part, Price is content to let the fight build, and if it does take place, Price prefers that it take place in the summer of 2013. That’s really not that far off. Price has an easy fight coming up on December 8th against 45-year-old Matt Skelton, and who knows comes after that.

Price will likely fight another two to three more times before next summer and should still be unbeaten. Price is okay that Fury is doing all the work promoting their future fight by trash talking him in interviews on Twitter. Price sees it asa positive thing to make their future fight much bigger.

Fury’s next fight will be on December 1st against a still to be determined opponent. It’s not likely to be anyone special unfortunately. Fury is ranked #4 by the WBC and his promoter Hennessy is probably going to play it safe by matching Fury up with another weak opponent like the ones that he’s been putting him in with thus far.

The 6’9″ Fury is going to need to work on his power and defense in a big way before he steps inside the ring with the 6’8″ Price because he doesn’t match up well with him in those areas. Fury tends to get his knockouts by bludgeoning his opposition into submission rather than knocking them out with one big shot.

The problem here is that Price hits much harder, and by having to fight him for a long period of time it increases the chances that Fury will get hurt by one of Price’s big right hand shots or left hooks and end up getting knocked out. If guys like Nikolai Firtha are able to shake Fury and knock him down then you can only imagine what Price will do to him once he connects with some of his big shots.
