Image: Harrison: I'm going to exploit Price's weaknessesBy Scott Gilfoid: 40-year-old Audley Harrison (28-5, 21 KO’s) already knows what British super heavyweight champion David Price’s major weaknesses are and he’s ready to exploit them on October 13th at the Echo Arena, in Liverpool, Merseyside, United Kingdom. Harrison won’t say what those weaknesses are, but it’s pretty clear that he’s referring to Price’s chin.

Harrison said to Frankmaloney.com “He does have weaknesses that haven’t really been exposed. In his amateur days he was exposed a few times and if there’s one thing I could be critical of it’s that he had an opportunity to work those mistakes out. I’m definitely going to be looking to exploit those weaknesses and I believe I’ll be able to.”

How could Price work out his weaknesses when he’s been put in with nothing but weak to moderate punchers since he turned pro in 2008. It’s painfully obvious that the 6’8″ Price has been matched against guys without power, speed or talent to trouble him at all. It’s not like Wladimir Klitschko, who was matched up with a steel-chinned Ross Puritty early on in his career. Puritty could not only take huge amount of punishment but he excellent power. I would love to see how Price would deal with a younger Puritty. I think it would be bad for Price, because Puritty would test Price’s chin for 12 rounds, and I don’t think Price would last that long.

Harrison has little choice but to swing for the fences in this fight early on. I hope for his sake he realizes he needs to do this because he can’t let the heavy-handed Price land too many of his shots because Harrison’s chin is about as bad as Price’s. But Harrison, if he’s smart, he can use his superior hand speed and athleticism to jump on the stork-like Price in the 1st round and look to KO him immediately. That’s how I would do it if I were Harrison. He’s got to blast Price out before he gets started.
