Also on the card will be a fight between heavyweight contenders Seth Mitchell and Johnathon Banks.

Golden Boy Promotions wants to try and match the 23-year-old Broner up with WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco but it remains to be seen whether they can put that fight together. Recently, WBC interim welterweight champion Robert Guerrero and Broner had exchanged words and it looked like there could be a fight put together between them after Broner told Guerrero to send a contract over so he could sign for a fight. However, it doesn’t look like their mutual promoters at Golden Boy wants to waste the two of them on each other, so we can look for Broner to be instead put in with a lightweight for his November 17th fight.

One very big problem that Broner has is that there’s not a whole of interesting fights that can be made at lightweight. DeMarco is hardly a star in the United States, and guys like Ricky Burns, Kevin Mitchell and Miguel Vazquez are in the same boat.

Broner has picked out the lightweight division to fight in but there’s even less well known fighters in this weight class than there was in the division that Broner just left. For Broner to get some interesting fights he’s going to have to move up to at least the light welterweight division. The sooner he does this the better, because he’s not going to become a huge star by beating guys like Vazquez, DeMarco, Mitchell and Burns.

Broner destroyed Vicente Escobedo, the #1 WBO, in a 5th round TKO in his last fight last July. This was another one of Broner’s easy fights where he tears up a top fighter with ease.
