Pacquiao and his promoter Bob Arum made sure that they included a rematch clause in the fight contract with Bradley, meaning that Bradley will have to beat Pacquiao a second time in a rematch on November 10th because he can move onto bigger and better fights against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Bradley said to RingTv “Because there is a rematch clause in our fight contract, I will have to beat Manny Pacquiao again in November. After that I look forward to matching myself with the top fighters like Juan Manuel Marquez, Foyd Mayweather.”

I agree, that’s a smart thing for Bradley to do. I’m sure Pacquiao and Arum will be pushing like mad for a rubber match between Pacquiao and Bradley should Bradley beat the Filipino for a second time, but Bradley needs to step away and look for something else so he doesn’t get known for just beating Pacquiao. He doesn’t need to have long periods of time wrapped up in fighting Pacquiao over and over in the same way that Rafael Marquez and Israel Vazquez used up a huge portion of their careers facing each other again and again. If Pacquiao can’t get the job done after two fights, then Bradley needs to walk away from the man and let him make what he can of the rest of his career.

Bradley has the advantage in the Pacquiao fight of having just seen him get handled by 38-year-old Juan Manuel Marquez last November. Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach will be working on a lot of different ideas to make Pacquiao look different in a fight against Bradley, but Pacquiao won’t be any different than he always is. He fights the same each time out no matter what kind of stuff is coming out of Roach’s mouth. Pacquiao is always the same. All Bradley has to do is study the Marquez-Pacquiao fight and do exactly what Marquez did but add a little more offense, and the fight is his.
