Kell Brook’s next opponent should be Devon Alexander

Image: Kell Brook’s next opponent should be Devon AlexanderBy Dominic Sauboorah: Kell Brook is proving to be a serious talent and this was proven after his comprehensive win over former European welterweight champion Matthew Hatton, who was successful in taking the WBC super-welterweight champion, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, the distance. Despite this though Brook hasn’t fought anyone that is of a world class stature which is why I believe I fight against Devon Alexander would be perfect.

Alexander is a somewhat illusive fighter and many have found it difficult to properly pin him down and land combinations against him. He recently moved up to welterweight whereby he fought knockout artist Marcos Maidana. The fight was surprisingly one sided whereby Alexander dominated with his jab and was able to pick off Maidana with ease. He clearly looked razor sharp at welterweight and so does Kell Brook.

Kell Brook’s last three fights have been tests for sure and he’s passed all three of them with ease. Now the step to world level must be made, otherwise he’ll be tagged as a “cherry-picker” which would be a shame considering he’s a massive talent. I believe him calling out Amir Khan isn’t fair, due to the fact that Khan is a lot more proven and is already a two time world champion. Brook hasn’t even fought for a world title yet. The fight between the pair would be massive, but the fight shouldn’t happen now.

Kell Brook Vs Devon Alexander. A fighter that’s illusive against a fighter that has punching power. Both are very hard to catch. Both throw great combination punches. Both look like real talents. They might not be on the same wave length as Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather, but they are on the same wave length as each other. Two evenly matched fighters in a fight that could define the winner’s career. It really is a pick ‘em fight.
