Broner, 22, will be fighting on the undercard of the Lamont Peterson vs. Amir Khan II rematch. The rest of the card is still in the development stage and it’s unclear right now who will be Broner’s opponent, as well who the fights will be on the undercard.

Broner recently said his promoters Golden Boy Promotions are searching for an opponent for him to fight on May 19th. He’s looking for a big name, someone that can catch the attention of the boxing public in a much bigger way any of the other opponents that Broner has fought up to this date. Broner’s last fight against Eloy Perez last February in Saint Louis. Perez was supposed to give the blazing fast Mayweather-esque Broner some problems, but he didn’t. Broner toyed with Perez until taking him out with a short right hand in the 4th round that put him down for the count. In Broner’s other recent fights, he defeated Vincente Martin Rodriguez by a 3rd round knockout in November of last year, and then completely destroyed a very good fighter in Jason Litzau by a 1st round TKO in June of last year.

As far as opposition for Broner, there’s Will Tomlinson, Roman Martinez and Yurirokis Gamboa in the top five. Gamboa would be easily the best option. However, there’s only a month to go before May 19th and it’s probably not realistic to think of Broner fighting Gamboa. Tomlinson and Martinez are good options if Broner can get those fights. He’d beat both of them with no problem but the hardest part is to get them to agree to the fight. Diego Magdaleno would also be a good option for Broner.
