Abraham faces Wilczewski on Saturday night in Germany in what could be a very tough fight for Abraham.

Abraham has already fought for super middleweight titles against Carl Froch and Andre Ward, failing miserably in both fights in losing by lopsided 12 round decisions. However, despite three losses in five fights, Abraham will get another shot at a title due to the high ranking given to him by the WBO. Abraham is currently ranked #2 by the WBO.

There’s no mystery about what Abraham will be looking to do against Wilczewski this Saturday night. He’s going to try and stop him with big swings. Wilczewski will have to have a good chin, great defense and a certain amount of foot movement if he wants to finish the fight standing up.

Like in his other fights at super middleweight, the 5’9″ Abraham will be the smaller fighter against the 5’11” Wilczewski. Abraham isn’t meant to fight at super middleweight and has merely moved up in weight because he’s eaten his way out of the middleweight division. At 160, Abraham was able to make up for his lack of height and boxing skills due to his crushing power. But at super middleweight, Abraham is even smaller and his lack of boxing skills is even more pronounced. He can still punch with good power but the guys he’s facing a larger and better able to keep the shorter Abraham on the outside.

Wilczewski can win this fight if he studies the blueprint created by Andre Dirrell and subsequently followed by Carl Froch and Andre Ward in their later wins over Abraham. Wilczewski has to keep the action on the outside by jabbing Abraham and not letting him get close.
