This is a real tough fight for Dimitrenko, 6’7″, because Pulev, 6’4 1/2″ is almost as big as him, but he’s got a great chin and decent power. Pulev just keeps coming forward without stop looking to land his jabs and clubbing right hands.

It’s going to be really tough for Dimitrenko, #2 WBO, #3 WBC, #7 WBA, #7 IBF, to win this fight because he’s probably not going to be able to slow Pulev down any with his shots and he won’t be able to KO this guy due to his strong chin. Dimitrenko can win the fight, but it’ll take a lot of movement and a really good jab to get the job done.

Pulev will eat Dimitrenko up if he stands and fights a stationary fight. The way to beat a plodder like Pulev is to jab him hard to try and keep him at a distance and then keep shifting around the ring to keep him from sitting down on his shots.

Pulev looked really good in stopping Michael Sprott in the 9th round in his last fight in January of this year. Sprott was basically worn down by Pulev’s jabs and clubbing right hands. Pulev isn’t a huge puncher like the Klitschkos, but he’s naturally big and he’s got respectable power. He wears you down with an accumulation of shots. This is why it’s important not to stand in front of him to let him throw his looping shots.

Dimitrenko has got good foot movement and he can move around the ring when he wants to without tiring. He’s very athletic and he’s going to need that for him to have a chance of beating Pulev. He’s got to stay on the move and keep firing his jab to keep Pulev from catching up to him and getting a stoppage.
