Image: Burns says he's prepared for Moses fight on Saturday but hasn't seen any video of himBy Scott Gilfoid: WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (33-2, 9 KO’s) supposedly is ready for his fight on Saturday night against former WBA lightweight champion Paulus Moses (28-1, 19 KO’s) at the Braehead Arena, Glasgow, Scotland, UK. Here’s the thing: Burns says he’s never even seen any view of Moses’ previous fights. Isn’t that amazing? How can you say you’re ready to fight the guy if you’ve never seen him fight before?

Burns told Sky Sports News “I haven’t watched him at all. We know he is a good boxer and has a big right hand obviously, with 19 knockouts from 28 fights.”

Gee, don’t you think it might not have been kind of a good idea to watch at least one of his fights to learn what you’re up against with the guy? Incredible! I can’t believe how a fighter like Burns would go through and entire training camp and yet never see any video of his opponent. This is some kind of primitive approach I suppose. I think it’s stupid but this will at least be a learning experience for Burns after he gets spanked by the guy. He can then make changes for his next fight by studying his opponent the way he should have been for this one so he can avoid taking another loss and really screwing up his career.

The reason it’s important to watch Moses’ fights is because he doesn’t have a good right hand, like Burns mentioned, he has an even better sneaky left hook to along with his powerful right hand a mind-numbing jab. Of course, Burns would have seen all this for himself had he took the time to watch some of Moses’ previous like a good one. You don’t ignore the guys fights because you got to know what tricks he uses to get KO’s and by the time Burns figures out what he does it may be too late for him this Saturday.
