Image: Klitschko manager calls Haye’s demands ridiculousBy John F. McKenna (McJack): Bernd Boente, the manager for WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) is referring to former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye’s (25-2, 23 KO’s) demands in a hoped for match between the two as ridiculous. Boente was quoted in the Mail Online saying:

“There is no longer anything going on with Haye. Our two sides are so far apart that from this moment there is no chance of this fight ever taking place. The financial risk of going anywhere near his demands would be far too great. We just don’t know what he could bring to the event now.

“What we do know for certain is that Sky Sport will not put him on Pay Per View (PPV) again so there would be limited fees from them for a normal broadcast.”

Boente went on to say that the only reason that the Klitschko camp pursued a fight with Haye was because of Vitali’s intense desire to knock him out because of the insults the “Hayemaker” hurled at both Klitscko’s in the lead up to the clash between Haye and Wladimir Klitschko last July. According to Boente, Vitali now accepts that he will never have the opportunity to “send Haye to the floor” as he puts it.

Haye was humiliated in his July fight with WBA/IBF/WBO/IBO and Ring Magazine heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KO’s) when after much pre fight talk by Haye, Wladimir pitched a near shutout. Haye’s defeat was made all the more humiliating when he attempted to blame his one sided defeat on an injured pinky toe immediately after the contest.

Haye’s trainer and manager Adam Booth is equally adamant that it is the Klitscko camp that is being ridiculous in the negotiations. Booth asserts that if the Klitschko side does not come up with a realistic offer, the fight will never happen.

What may be going on by both the Klitschko and Haye camps is simply posturing. There is little doubt that “Dr. Ironfist” wants Haye in the ring in a bad way. He has indicted that on numerous occasions starting almost immediately after the fight in July between Haye and Wladimir. Haye for his part must realize that as far as big money fights go Vitali is now the only show in town.
