Image: Should Morales and Matthysse finish each round strong?By Gerardo Granados: The last twenty seconds or so of a round often impress the fight judges so both Erik Morales and Lucas Matthysse should end the round strong to impress the fight judges in order to get a win in case the fight goes to the fight score cards. In this matchup both fighters have a solid chin although both lions have good power it is probable that we wont see a knockout victory.

When Morales fought against Marco Antonio Barrera he dominated a round but at the end of it Barrera´s flurries of punches gave him the edge to impress the fight judges to win a couple of rounds that were close but that may have been on favor of Morales.

It has been reported that the thirty five years old Morales is in great shape and is looking sharp in training. After seen his gritty effort with one eye closed in his fight against Marcos Maidana it was clear that the old lion still has enough left inside of him to compete against the top light welterweight contenders and Lucas might have the correct boxing style for Erik because he does not have great mobility or lightning speed and he does likes to engage, so he might fit the boxing style of Morales.

Lucas Matthysse should end the round strong to impress the fight judges too, he is a good fighter and maybe even better than Marcos Maidana but he is not hall of fame material, he is strong and young but he better not be too confident and must be focus on the counterpunching combos of Morales because Erik might be able to hurt him.

There is no doubt that this fight will be entertaining to watch with two fighters determined to win. We won’t see a Tim Bradley vs. Devon Alexander replay, because just as Morales did not quit against Maidana, Matthysse won’t do it against Morales. They are two brave lions fighting to prove who the best is.

The experience of Morales and the youth of Matthysse can level the fight and it could be up to the fight judges to determine the winner. It would be good to score the bout at home because after the controversial losses that both fighters have had this could not be the exception, and for sure some wont be satisfied with the fight scoring.

It is not easy to pick a winner, so let the best man win.
