Mitchell, a fighter that Katsidis destroyed in three rounds last year in May, is leading the pack for a fight that Katsidis would be taking on October 15th on the undercard of Nathan Cleverly vs. Tony Bellew.

There have been discussions between Katsidis’ manager and the management for Mitchell. However, Mitchell is also in the running for a title shot against WBA lightweight champion Brandon Rios for December. If Mitchell does opt to take that fight, then it will come down to N’dou and Casamayor. The 40-year-old N’dou is someone that Katsidis would be fighting in November.

It’s obviously much less appealing for Katsidis because N’dou has lost his last two fights to Saul Alvarez and Kell Brook. Katsidis wouldn’t get a great deal of credit for beating a guy that’s old as N’dou right now. However, he is a considerable step up from Katsidis’ last opponent, the out of shape-looking Michael Lozado, who Katsidis destroyed in a 3rd round KO on August 13th.

Katsidis showed great body punching in that fight, but he didn’t have to worry about anything coming back from Lozado, who did little in the fight other than grabbing and holding onto Katsidis’ arms any chance he could get to slow him down. N’dou is a lot better fighter than Lozada, but not someone that will help Katsidis much.

Katsidis is also interested in fighting a rematch against 40-year-old Joel Casamayor, who has lost two out of his last four fights. Casamayor stopped Katsidis in the 10th round three years ago. However, Casamayor is older now and not the fighter he was back then. It seems like an even worse fight for Katsidis because he won’t get credit for beating Casamayor now that he’s 40 and is slipping.
