Green, 31, has had problems making the 168 pound limit for the super middleweight division. It was thought that if he moved up to light heavyweight (175 lbs) he could find it easier to make weight without having to drain himself to make the weight. However, Green has skipped this division altogether and gone straight up to cruiserweight with the weight limit of 200 lbs.

If Green can’t make this weight draining himself he needs to consider retiring from boxing because there’s no way the slender Green will ever make it at heavyweight. Green has lost his last two fights against Andre Ward and Glen Johnson in one-sided fights. He blames his poor performances on having problems making weight. Those problems are now over now that he’s at cruiserweight.

However, the fighters are bigger at this weight and it’s doubtful that Green’s punching power will give any of the cruiserweights problems, because they’re used to getting hit by guys with even more power than Green. As for Gandy, he’s lost his last three fights and is struggling. Green should win this one without too many problems unless he falls apart under a little pressure from Gandy. Anything is possible when you’ve got a fighter like Green coming off of two losses and moving up two divisions.
