Image: Steward: Wladimir will blast Haye out in 4 roundsBy William Mackay: Trainer Emanuel Steward sees his fighter IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) fighting with much more emotion when he meets up with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) next month on July 2nd in Germany. Steward sees Wladimir abandoning his usual conservative style of fighting and coming out firing due to his anger at Haye for all the trash talking and games that he’s been playing for the past three years.

In an article at Sky Sports News, Steward said “I definitely get frustrated with Wladimir’s systemic, analytic style of boxing, and it’s shown in some of his fights. What’s so frustrating is he has so much talent and I know what he can do. but it’s like a chess game with him. I thought Lennox [Lewis] was bad but Wladimir beats him when it comes to thinking too long in the ring. But I think emotion is going to be involved in this fight. With Wladimir really, really upset with David, emotion is going to come into this which will make Wladimir much more aggressive than in the past.”

Steward might want to try and calm Wladimir down because if he comes out slugging with Haye early on, it could play into Haye’s hands. Haye doesn’t have the boxing ability to win a decision against Wladimir and really has little more than a puncher’s chance of winning. If Wladimir abandons his normal cautious style of fighting and comes out swinging like he’s done in the past in losses to Corrie Sanders, Lamon Brewster and Ross Purity, we could see Wladimir get knocked out again. What Wladimir needs to do is box Haye and take him deep into the fight and then try and knock him out once Haye has tired and his face is badly swollen from eating jabs all fight long.

Steward says “I think it’s going to be an explosive first few rounds. But I believe that Wladimir will stop David in four.”
