The 6’1″ 244 pound Chisora may need every bit of extra training to help him get ready because he appears to be in way over his head in this fight. Part of the problem is that Chisora isn’t a big puncher and isn’t very fast either. To beat a guy like Wladimir, you have to have either a lot of speed or a lot of power, and Chisora has neither. He stands out in England, because other than WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, they really don’t have anyone over there that’s a world talent. But as for as being good enough to compete with Wladimir, Chisora is really lacking in the ability required.

Hopefully the Spain training camp will burn off some of the extra blubber that Chisora routinely carries around with him. He looks like he could lose 15 to 25 pounds and be a lot sharper. But if Chisora loses that much weight, he’ll only weigh in the low 220s. That’s too small to beat Wladimir without having blazing speed and power. Wladimir was stopped by Corrie Sanders in the 2nd round in 2003. Sanders weighed only 225. But Sanders was a lot taller than Chisora at 6’4″, much faster with his hands a huge puncher. There’s no comparison. Sanders, a southpaw, had much better power than Chisora. This is why Chisora is going to have to come up with some scheme to help him be competitive in this fight.
