Warren sees a Chisora win over Klitschko as one of the biggest upsets in boxing history

By Dave Lahr: Promoter Frank Warren believes that if his fighter unbeaten Dereck Chisora (14-0, 9 KO’s) can pull off an upset of IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO’s) on April 30th, it would go down as one of the biggest upsets in boxing history. Wladimir has selected Chisora, the inxperienced British heavyweight with only 14 fights instead of an opponent that’s been around and has more fights under their belt.

Chisora is ranked #10 by the WBO, but rankings really mean very little. Chisora is a top three to top four heavyweight in my view, and has the skills and the power to take Wladimir out if he can pound him on the inside.

In an article at yahoo sports news, Warren said “For a guy to win a heavyweight title after just 14 fights, it has to be the biggest upset of all time. It would be a bigger upset than [Leon] Spinks beating [Muhammad] Ali.”

Wladimir and Chisora were supposed to have fought last month on December 11th, but Wladimir pulled out of the fight due to an abdominal injury. Wladimir then briefly tried to put together a fight with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. Unfortunately, Wladimir decided to take the tune-up with Chisora, and Haye smelt something fishy and decided to forget about the July 2nd date and move on.

Chisora will now get a second chance to beat Wladimir. Chisora had Wladimir unnerved in their press conferences together and seemed to really have the upper hand with his gift for gab and for arguing. Wladimir looked tongue-tied much of the time and in their last press conferences, he seemed to be trying to appease Chisora.
