I see him coming back to life in 2011 and quickly making his presence felt by picking up some notable scalps with his blazing hand speed and incredible talent. Dirrell was poised for greatness in the Super Six tournament until cruelly being hurt by a late punch from Arthur Abraham that connected after Dirrell had slipped on the canvas.

Dirrell had hoped to continue in the Super Six and was ready for the biggest fight of the entire tournament against fellow American talent Andre Ward, but it wasn’t to be. Dirrell began to suffer headaches shortly after the fateful night against Abraham and wasn’t his old self while training for the Ward fight. Dirrell was quickly ushered to a local doctor in his home state of Michigan, where Dirrell was advised to take three months off to see if his symptoms would clear up.

Thus far, there’s been no word from Dirrell but the world awaits his decision for when he’ll be back and be ready to set the super middleweight division on fire once again with his talent. I have a strong feeling in my gut that Dirrell will be back shortly, and we’ll see him in against the likes of Carl Froch, whom he lost a very questionable decision to in his first fight in the Super Six tournament, and possibly against Abraham to clear up the mess of their fight. Both of those bouts would be huge blockbusters, as would an eventual fight against the soon to be Super Six tournament winner Ward.
