Bradley-Alexander: Timothy wants Khan, Pacquiao and Mayweather after beating Devon on 1/29

By William Mackay: Unbeaten WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (26-0, 11 KO’s) has big dreams for his future once he gets past his next opponent WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-0, 13 KO”s) on January 29th at the Silverdome, in Pontiac, Michigan. Bradley, a former WBC light welterweight champion, needs to get by Alexander to get to the bigger fights in the future against Amir Khan. That’s the number #1 fight for Bradley in 2011 and a fight he can count on as long as Khan doesn’t get cold feet and go running in the other direction.

Once Khan is beaten and the hype train put to rest, Bradley then wants fights against Manny Pacquiao and/or Floyd Mayweather Jr. As crazy as that may sound, it’s actually a very possibility that Bradley can get one or even both of those fights in the future. Once Bradley destroys both Alexander and Khan, his value is going to shoot up into the stratosphere with him becoming one of the biggest stars in the sport. He’s already got loads up talent and has proven it in wins over Kendall Holt, Junior Witter, Luis Carlos Abregu and Lamont Peterson.

However, wins over Alexander and Khan are going to turn Bradley into a comet where he circles the earth and gets huge attention from boxing fans. His name will be burned permanently into the minds of all hardcore boxing fans and even casual boxing fans once he does away with Alexander and Khan in an impressive fashion. Once those preliminary fights are out of the way, Alexander can get to the real meat of the boxing world by taking on someone like Pacquiao.

I see Bradley getting that fight first, because Pacquiao has essentially exhausted all of his available opponents to the point where his promoter Bob Arum is grasping for old codgers like Shane Mosley just to keep Pacquiao active. Arum is going to want to take advantage of Bradley’s new found fame after the Alexander and Khan destruction’s by matching him up with Pacquiao. This is how I see it going. The only way that Bradley won’t realize his dreams is if Khan decides to duck him and skedaddle up to the welterweight division where he can pick and choose among a huge number of horrible fighters to pick up easy wins.
