Image: Haye vs Wladimir: Adam Booth offers 50:50 SplitBy Bradley Hastings: Despite many boxing fans accusing David Haye and his manager Adam Booth of ducking both of the Klitschkos, Adam Booth has today released a statement saying he has offered the Klitschko camp a full 50:50 split of the entire pot, even though the Haye camp know the UK revenue is much more substantial.

Talking to skysports.com, Adam had this to say: “”Despite the fact we know we bring more UK television money to the table, David and I are happy to split the entire pot 50:50 and grant Wladimir the deal he has wanted since day one. We have offered them 50:50 on everything – just as they requested – and now see no reason why this tremendous fight can’t happen. The path is clear.”

This is very promising news, and shows the intent of the Haye camp, who by no stretch have been hiding from either of the Klitschko brothers, but instead have held their ground and tried to maximize the financial intake, which to be honest, who can blame them considering Haye has less than 12 months left in the game. In the same breath it was becoming rather disheartening to see Haye so focused on money and not on securing a legacy, but here we have it, an offer Wladimir cannot refuse, and that is the opinion of David himself who finishes the interview by saying:

“We have now ticked every box they have asked us to tick and I just hope Wladimir is as eager to fight as he tells everyone he is,” said Haye. We have removed every possible excuse and have shown we are serious about making this fight become a reality. I’ll smoke him out if I have to.”

I think the drive of David is clear to see, and his attributes in the ring match his determination, because if there is one fighter who can seriously damage a Klitschko, it is David Haye.
