Wladimir has his own TV rights in Germany and we can assume he is either keeping that money separate or adding it to the pot. Either way the ball is officially in Wladimir’s court.

Wladimir’s contract is estimated to be worth £2.5 million per fight not assessed on the level of opposition which makes people think by fighting lesser opposition such as Chisora he would be able to get out of his current contract in order to make more money with bigger fights such as Haye and Adamek, even Tarver or Roy Jones Jr would bring in the PPV’s.

Haye has been saying that after he fights, Wladimir and Vitali jump on the bandwagon looking for worldwide TV exposure with Wladimir showing his fights on Showtime and Vitali’s last fight being shown on ESPN 3 which is an online stream not a TV channel while Haye is on Sky Sports daily up until a fight and shown on Sky Sports PPV were all the money is. The Klitschko’s and some boxing fans just slam the type of opposition Haye has been facing, with some criticism fair and unfair such as level of opposition Barrett the heavyweight Gatekeeper, John Ruiz two time world heavyweight champion, Nikolay Valuev former WBA world heavyweight champion and the joke that is Audley Harrison who cannot be defended. Meanwhile even Wladimir’s opposition has not been spectacular with 37 year old (at the time) Tony Thompson, 36 year old Hasim Rahman, Late replacement Ruslan Chagaev which was a good bout and Fast (or fat) Eddie Chambers who I do not rate in the slightest, in fact this guy is just a tubby cruiserweight. Lastly the second Sam Peter fight, were Wladimir was exceptional apart from where his knees buckled in the first round after the first punch. The peter fight and even the possible Chisora fight showed how awful the heavyweight division is and shows that Wladimir has nowhere to go other then Haye and Adamek.

The fight could have happened before in 2008 after Haye had only 2 fights at heavyweight, unfortunately Haye pulled out with a back injury and Setanta Sports, who were covering the fight went bust leaving Haye to fight for free.

This fight is not signed yet and I am still sceptical that this fight will come off, now Haye has put the ball in Wladimir’s court I really want to see what is happening with Wladimir’s money. Lastly I expect the venue of the fight being a big part of the negotiations with Wladimir only willing to fight in Germany while Haye is open to both USA venues and UK venues which Wladimir is totally against for some reason.
