Victor Ortiz could clean out the jr. welterweight division

By Marquise Bullock: Okay boxing fans call me crazy but I think Victor Ortiz might be able to clean out the jr. welterweight division. I know some of you are probably reading this right now and can’t wait to leave some pretty good insulting comments, but I’m so serious when I say Ortiz can do it. A lot of boxing fans put Amir Khan at the cream of the crop when it comes to the 140 pound division, but I don’t. But I know for a fact that Khan is a very talented young fighter and he’s going to crush Marcos Maidana. It’s going to look like when Andre Dirrell out boxed Arthur Abraham, but worst.

I’ve been watching boxing since I was very young and I know talent when I see it. Victor Ortiz is the real deal. The only negative about him possibly cleaning out the division is, Khan or Bradley might beat him to it. The 140 pound weight class is stacked right now, and Ortiz has gotten better. I think he would beat the winner and loser of the Bradley-Alexander fight, an aging Juan Manuel Marquez, Andriy Kotelnik, a smart rematch with Maidana, and Khan. A lot of people question his heart but I see in skill. Raw skill. He has gotten so much better he proved a lot in his fight with Vivian Harris. Even though Harris is not a live body, Ortiz did what he supposed to, to a zombie like Harris.

Ortiz also beat an okay Nate Campbell, I say he should fight the winner of the Bradley-Alexander fight before Khan does, and avenge his loss to Maidana. Ortiz is most definitely an X-factor in this sport. A fight for the ages I believe will be him against the witty Khan. That fight is a Golden Boy dream. I also believe the losers in any fight at 140 deserves not to be written off. Today a lot of boxing fans have the habit of writing off fighters when they lose. For example, if Alexander were to lose to Bradley and vise versa, that fighter would be damaged goods and everything but talented. It’s just not right.

None the less Victor Ortiz is the one to look out for at the jr. welterweight division. Ortiz even has the frame to move up to junior middleweight, but that’ll take some time. Ortiz is in my opinion a young Oscar De La Hoya who needs a little bit more work.
