Froch looking past Abraham, thinking about Pascal rematch

Froch lost that fight by a 12 round decision in April. Froch thinks the judges gave Kessler a home town decision and thinks the outcome would have been different if he was to have fought Kessler in Froch’s home city of Nottingham, England.

Having seen the Kessler vs. Froch fight at least twice, I can’t see what Froch is talking about. He appeared to lose that fight by at least a couple of rounds, maybe more. Besides Kessler, Froch now wants to fight a rematch with Jean Pascal, saying in an article at thesun.co.uk, “A move up [to light heavyweight] might suit me. I would pack a punch with those extra pounds. I would like to fight Jean [Pascal] again and we spoke about it three weeks ago. We had quite a battle last time, but I think I have got the measure on him.”

Froch barely won the fight by a 12 round decision, incidentally. It was very close at the end. What Froch fails to realize is that Pascal’s interest in fighting Froch again will likely drop to about zero if Froch gets knocked out brutally by Abraham on November 27th in their fight at the Hartwell Arena, in Helsinki, Finland. I don’t know why Froch isn’t seeing this. I guess he believes he’s going to beat Abraham. I think Froch is going to lose and lose big to Abraham.

After that, Froch can complain and focus on rematches with Pascal, Abraham and Kessler. While he’s at it, Froch should think about a rematch with Andre Dirrell, because few people outside of the UK think Froch won that fight. If he wants to rematch some of his past opponent, then he needs to start with that fight.

Abraham has had a devil of a time trying to get Froch in the ring for the past six months. He started having immediate problems with Froch when Carl refused to fight him in Germany. After ages, they finally settled on a new venue in Monaco, only to have that venue off the table when Froch recently injured his back. The fight has now been rescheduled to November 27th to accommodate Froch and his injured back.
