The Golden Age of British Boxing? You Better Believe it

haye343By Eamon McDonald: After reading a certain writer’s article on this site, I have decided to counter with an article that is not biased and petty. I’m going to do the evaluations in the same order:

Amir Khan – First of all, this guy is immensely talented. No-one can argue that. He destroyed a B-list opponent in the 1st round and looked great doing it. It’s probably even kind calling Salita a B-list opponent but none the less the speed and power Khan used was terrific and he is going to be a force to be reckoned with in the coming months and years. He will seek a rematch with Prescott eventually i am sure! And even if he didn’t, how would that affect anything? Styles make fights as we know and Prescott could well be Khan’s kryptonite. So Maidana loses to Kotelnik but it’s ok for him to fight Khan before he avenges that defeat? Khan will beat Prescott in my opinion and i think Maidana would go through Kotelnik for a shortcut in a rematch. I don’t care what biased writers have said, Prescott is not in the same class as Timothy Bradley, Victor Ortiz or Marcos Maidana. To sum up, Khan will have a terrific boxing career with probably a few loses along the way but this guy definitely is capable of beating anyone on his day. He just keeps getting better. As The Ring Magazine says’ He’s the real deal’.

Carl Froch – A warrior. Without a doubt an absolute warrior, i look forward to his future fights with talented boxers. This guy makes fights so exciting, even though he doesn’t possess any raw talent like Andre Ward or S.C’s boyfriend Andre Dirrell. Froch scored an impressive victory over Jermain Taylor in a great fight and what more needs to be said about the Pascal fight? One of the best slugfests you could hope to see! Froch beat Andre Direll via a controversial split decision although it would’ve been a controversial win for Dirrell had he been awarded the fight as no fighter clearly won and it won’t do anything to affect either fighter’s career. Froch will get beat eventually, i’ve no doubt about that as his chin won’t save him forever! However, he will always make fights interesting and that’s what everyone wants to see! Froch vs Kessler will be one to watch! I personally can’t wait for that one. I’ll end this one by saying, how funny would it be if Andre Ward lost to Froch, (not that he will) but the article a certain writer would put up on this website would be the funniest thing ever.

David Haye – This guy is some character and he does have alot of talent and is in supreme condition unlike nearly every other heavyweight in the division. Don’t be surprised if he sweeps up all the titles, Vitali will be a year older when they do meet and he is so injury prone and looking slower these days. Wladimir has a questionable chin, as does Haye, and either fighter could win this one. That will be such an interesting fight. On the other hand Haye probably will get beat by both because these guys are great fighters, they could last in any great heavyweight era. To sum up, Haye’s a breath of fresh air and he could well become the undisputed champion of the heavyweight division.

Thanks for reading.
