By Liam Santiago: Mayweather does not want to send Pacquiao to the moon. He just wants a fair fight. Is that really so bad? Also, I can not understand why on every boxing news forum, almost every fan is pinning the blame for what could be the cancellation of this bout on Mayweather. Pacquiao is at fault if this fight does not happen.
As the great Manuel Perez stated, it was fine for Pacquiao to call the shots against Cotto, demanding the champion boiled down an extra two pounds, but now Roach wants to play it fair. Roach said to 8count news, ”Well the sanctioning bodies and the state commissions run the boxing world, not Floyd Mayweather. We fight for the state commission, since when does the fighter make up the rules”.
Read that last sentence again. ”Since when does the fighter make up the rules”. Good point Roach. What gave you the right to demand that Miguel Cotto took an extra two pound off? What gave you the right to demand automatic DQ for Cotto in a case of an illegal low blow against Cotto?
I find it very silly that Pacquiao’s team has stated that they would accept a blood test after the fight. The whole point of these tests is to make sure the fight is fair. It is pointless finding out if Pacquiao has been juicing up after he has knocked Mayweather out. Pacquiao could beat Mayweather, then get found for juicing up after the fight, then retire and he would be a very happy man.
If this fight doesn’t happen, Roach said Pacquiao will instead fight Yuri Foreman. WOW! What a blockbuster! Not! Beating Foreman might give Pacquiao his 978th belt in 54 divisions or whatever it is, but no one wants to see that fight. What about Shane Mosley, Andre Berto or Timothy Bradley?
Floyd Mayweather Jnr said in a statement, ”In a fight of this magnitude, I think it is our responsibility to subject ourselves to sportsmanship at the highest level”.
To be honest, I do not care weather this fight happens or not, because I already know what the outcome would be. Floyd by UD.
