Allan Green dominates Simms winning a unanimous decision

green423By Sam Gregory: Tonight’s Main Event on ShoBox The New Generation undefeated super middleweight Tarvis Simms 25-0 with 11 KO’s is fighting Allan Green 28-1 with 20 KO’s at the Seven Clans Casino in Red Rock, Oklahoma in a scheduled 10 round bout in the super middleweight division. Green is a last minute replacement for the injured Victor Oganov.

30 year old Allan Green of Tulsa, Oklahoma is the heavy favorite over the 38 year old Tarvis Simms; even though Simms is undefeated this fight is considered a step up in opposition for him.

Round 1 both men came out testing the waters throwing jabs; Simms landed a couple jabs but Green won the round.

Round 2 Simms was the aggressor early on and pressed Green. Simms landed some good body shots but Green controlled the round.

Round 3 Green landed a couple jabs; the shorter Simms dug to the body but Green blocked most of the punches. Green was the aggressor and landed the cleaner punches.

Round 4 Green landed a couple solid shots early in this round, Simms shock it off. Simms kept his hands up and blocked most of Green’s punches early in the round. Simms landed a solid body shot and was very aggressive in this round even though Green carried the round.

Round 5 Green appeared to have won every round so far. Green was able to keep Simms at the distance he wanted using his jab. Simms threw his jab than clinched; being the shorter man he tried to stay in close and go to the body.

At this point Green won all 5 rounds on the unofficial scorecard

Round 6 Green started this round moving to his right; Simms was fighting southpaw going to the body. Simms threw his jab and again clinched. The output of punches was down from both fighters.

Round 7 Simms came out southpaw and seemed to throw Green off slightly at the beginning of the round. Simms snapped off some good jabs that landed solid. Simms appeared to win these 2 rounds by fighting in the southpaw stance.

Round 8 Green is much more aggressive in this round. Simms didn’t have nearly the output of punches of Green. Green landed a solid body shot that stumbled Simms. Simms had Green against the ropes at the end of the round throwing and landing solid shots.

Round 9 Green landed solid combinations trying to finish Simms. Green landed solid jabs to the face of Simms. Simms finished the round as the aggressor having Green against the ropes at the end of the round.

Round 10 Simms came out again in the southpaw stance. Both men threw their jabs; Green was the more accurate puncher and carried the round.

The fight went to the judge’s scorecards after 10 rounds: 98-92, 99-91 and 97-93 for the winner Allan Green.
