By Raj Parmar: As talks of training camp problems intensify for Manny Pacquiao as he prepares for his once in lifetime showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr, he has decided to put a ban on doing any interviews until training camp media day on April 15. Manny’s camp apparently feel that the “Pacman” is not performing to the levels he needs to be in training and that all distractions must be cut out at this point.

“Since the red carpet [March 11] until now, we’ve done so much press — triple any other fight — he’s a little tired of it,” Roach said to the LA Times, “I told him I’ll pick up the slack if needed. I can be tired. He can’t.”

Manny himself has stated that he will avoid interviews from here on out and acknowledged that he is not where he needs to be mentally and possibly even physically at this point in camp.

“You have to focus without interruption after your activities of jogging, training … I don’t want to focus on anything other than boxing,” Pacquiao said, “I’m not complaining about interviews. They help us promote the fight and help the people know what’s happening in the camps. This is just the first time I’m asking for time to focus. There’s something I need to achieve in this camp, especially mentally.”

It seems Manny is now adopting the pattern his opponent has implemented since the start of training camp. Mayweather has rarely spoken to the media since he started training and it is probably a safe bet to state that he is probably in a better place mentally and physically than Pacquiao with the fight less than a month away.

According to sources per fightsaga.com, Manny is not performing impressively at all in sparring as he is having trouble cutting off the ring and is getting hit hard by his sparring partners way too often. His footwork, timing and overall rhythm also appears off and the Pacquiao camp might be starting to panic just a bit as they head into the final homestretch of fight of their lives.
