By Babatis Banda: Here it comes, the fight of all time. It has been a long wait and now the possibility is that this fight is almost unstoppable from happening. Pacquiao agreed to the conditions of the fight and so there is no reason this fight can’t be made. This morning I heard something to the fact that Floyd had signed, or is it agreed to his part of the deal. True or not, we are likely to see this fight this coming May. In the past Pacquiao had refused to bend to the conditions, thank God Arum and team realized Mayweather didn’t really care and he had always moved on.
It’s time to put to bed all the dreams of the past few years. Reality will dawn come May 2. So much has been said about these two fighters and now its reality time. No excuses, no lame excuses as to why somebody lost this fight.
If Pacquiao beats Mayweather, we have a new king of the sport and the dispute is over as to who is the best. If Mayweather beats Pacquiao, credit must be given to one of the greatest boxing artists of all time and he remains the undisputed king of the sport.
I am sure not long from now, these two will go into camp and the juicy 24/7 begins. I personally can’t wait for this moment. Power, speed, endurance, boxing finesse and technical ability at full display. If you asked me, there is no better feeling to know that finally the senseless rivalry will come to an end. We may even be privileged to witness a re-match should this fight end up close.
For boxing enthusiasts like me, this is really one of those times when time seems to stand still. I wait to see that killer look in the eyes of Pacquiao and I wait to see the cat-like stance for Mayweather, ready to do his thing. Its game-on and let us enjoy. I wish all the fans of the two boxers, the best of luck otherwise they will have un-ending fits for a while to come.
