Khan: Tonight’s fight between WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia Jr (23-0, 14 KO’s) and Amir Khan (26-2, 18 KO’s) would be one of those fight that was hyped by someone that is not fighting. Danny Garcia’s father and in the end will make Amir Khan shine and gain a title. It is true that Danny Garcia is a very good fighter and is talented, undefeated and still has a future in boxing after he’s defeated tonight.

We all know the reasons why Khan CAN lose this fight but in this article we will discuss the reasons why Danny Garcia will lose.
We must first explain some misconception about Khan’s flaws that can make him lose the fight. The most popular is a “SUSPECTED CHIN”.

FacT: Khan was knocked out in the first round by Brendis Prescott, a fighter known for one punch knockouts. Remember one punch knockouts. Khan got up from the first knock down with lots of problems, only to be knocked out again five seconds later. Khan has since then stepped up in weight, joined a better gym, and has stepped up in class by fighting top opponents. They were not less quality, BUT since then top opponents, some of which also has knockout power like Marcos Maidana.

My take on Khan’s chin is not that he cannot take a punch but two things: one, when you get hit by a quality puncher anyone will go down. Good for Khan that he was taught that early in his professional career.

Second, his biggest flaw is not taking the punch but he does not know how to hide it when he’s is hurt and to this day the best defense when you are hurt is to hold and hold tight. He chooses to dance, and we all know how that is being drunk and trying to dance. That’s where it gets scary, because he has been lucky so far that after being hurt no one has got lucky to land that clean punch that will definitely knock him or anyone else out.

With that being said, we are aware that a puncher like Garcia has a very good chance in winning this fight, not because of his power but Amir’s inability to defend after getting hurt. But will Garcia get a chance to hurt Khan?

In studying Garcia past fights, my conclusion is that if you fall into Garcia’s HYPNOTISM, you will lose. Everyone claims that Garcia starts slow and gets stronger as the fight goes on. That’s not true. The FACT is if you study Garcia fighting abilities you will notice that Garcia can only fight flat footed and never really starts his offense. If he does start the offense, its simply a one, two with him moving his weight back to his back leg. This means he does not often move his legs forward as he is trying to be offensive. He is more of a counter puncher that uses the so called offense just to get you to do something. He will have to change his complete fighting style to become a pressure fighter against Khan. I do not believe that he has the basic foot movement to become a pressure fighter or to do what Lamont Peterson did to Khan in their fight. Remember I said Gracia cannot punch or become a pressure fighter if he has to make two steps forward.

This is Garcia’s HYPNOTISM, starting slow, slowing the fight down, getting you as an opponent to stand in front of him. The fight will not become a brawl but a technical fight with both fighters in the middle of the ring exchange punches. Then naturally his hard punching will make the difference. See Garcia’s fight against Erik Morales.

Garcia also has a problem with being uncomfortable in the ring (see Morales fight). If you bloody his nose or if his eyes get cut or if you hurt him, he is not going to fight the same. But if in his uncomfortableness he lands a good punch, he will see hope and will fight. I believe he will quit if you are able to make him be uncomfortable and keep working him.

Tonight’s fight!

Garcia is not Peterson nor does he have the foot movement to pressure Khan. There is no way that he could have developed the foot movement necessary to pressure Khan in 6 weeks, and if he did, he will be fighting out of his zone and will run out of gas. This is like saying that Khan has learned better defense for fighters pressuring him. Most fighters will tend to give up some of their better qualities to develop a new one. I do not think Khan is willing to learn a better defense, I believe he will become a STRONGER puncher to equalize pressure from his opponents. You cannot develop punching power, you can better your power. Amir Khan can punch, he just never uses his power. He will start now. Is Garcia willing to get out of his comfort zone to go after him like Peterson did.. NO, NO!

Amir Khan will not be HYPNOTIZED by Gracia, for he will not stand there long enough for it to work. Garcia is a sucker for the left hook, and over hand right. The same punch that knocked out Hasim Rahman in his second fight with Lennox Lewis. Will Khan be able to knock Garcia out with one punch? Yes, he can, but I think if he does not, this punch will make Gracia uncomfortable and he will quit or get knocked out in the 6th round.

I will have to compare tonight’s fight with Lewis vs Mike Tyson.
Tyson’s inability to move forward to pressure Lewis, something that Tyson was good at.

My prediction Amir Khan by 6th Round Stoppage.
