By Jim Dower: Deontay Wilder says he’s going to cripple challenger Dominic Breazeale when the time comes for him to defend his WBC heavyweight title against him in the future. Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) says the 32-year-old Breazeale (19-1, 17 KOs) is going to get what’s coming to him.
By Trevor McIntyre: Showtime Sports president Stephen Espinoza says WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and former unified champion Tyson Fury are close to having a fight done for November 10 or November 17 on Showtime pay-per-view, according to ESPN.
By Scott Gilfoid: Having failed with his flat fee offer of $15 million to WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder to face his golden goose Anthony Joshua for April 13, British promoter Eddie Hearn is now offering the ‘Bronze Bomber’ $5 million to face fringe contender Dereck Chisora in the UK or $7 million to $8 million to face #1 WBC Dillian Whyte in the U.S in a fight that would likely be streamed on DAZN.
By Scott Gilfoid: Former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury says negotiations for a fight between him and World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder are ”very close” to being done for this December. Earlier on Monday, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren revealed the news that he’s confident he can make the Fury-Wilder fight for November or December.
By Scott Gilfoid: Frank Warren believes he can negotiate a mega-fight deal for former unified heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury to challenge WBC champion Deontay Wilder before the end of the year in November or December, according to Talksport.
By Scott Gilfoid: After turning down a world title shot against WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “Bronze Bomber” Wilder (37-0, 36 KOs) in 2015, unbeaten #5 WBO, #13 IBF Hughie Fury (20-0, 10 KOs) could now be fighting him in March of 2017. Hughie and Wilder’s team are reportedly in talks for a fight in March.
This is interesting news, because I figured that Hughie would wait two or three more years before he fights for a world title. If he’s serious about wanting to get inside the ring with Deontay now, then he must really see some flaw in his arsenal that he thinks he can take advantage of. in fact, Hughie is yapping about seeing flaws in Deontay’s game that he believes he can exploit.
By Scott Gilfoid: Former Commonwealth heavyweight strap holder Tyson Fury (23-0, 17 KOs) was standing on his hind legs today in yapping at WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (33-0, 32 KOs) from the safety of his computer many miles away from the hard hitting Wilder in calling him out for a fight that Fury presumably would like to see take place in 2015.
Fury says he wants to face the 6’7” Wilder and he sees himself tearing the unbeaten American apart if given the chance.
By Scott Gilfoid: American heavyweight talent Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KOs) foresees himself meeting up with British heavyweight Tyson Fury (22-0, 16 KOs) next year in a fight that Wilder believes will be a huge fight that would make promoters unnecessary.
Presumably, Wilder believes that Fury will win his next fight against Dereck Chisora on November 22nd, and then beat IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko after that. The Fury-Chisora fight is a WBO heavyweight eliminator bout with the winner becoming Wladimir’s WBO mandatory challenger.
By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten American heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (30-0, 30 KO’s) seems to have gotten a little tired of Tyson Fury mouthing off on twitter, so he decided to fire back a salvo to give him a taste of his own medicine while at the same time urging him to get off his backside and send a contract over for him to fight.
The talented 6’7″ Deontay wants to get Fury in the ring so that he can knock him out and finish him as a major player in the heavyweight division. Steve Cunningham came close to doing the job on Fury last April in their fight in New York, but Fury was able to get up after being knocked flat in the 2nd round. Cunningham was too tired from throwing that one shot to do much more in the fight, but he came real close to putting the Fury hype to rest.
