Haye: Vitali would be better off to fight me sooner rather than later

haye4By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye thinks WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko will ultimately fight him, but he thinks it would be better off for Vitali if he were to take the fight soon before he gets too much older. Haye, 32, feels he has youth on his side, so that when Vitali does choose to finally face him, Haye will still be a relatively young fighter.

Haye said to sportinglife.com “The way I see it is the longer Vitali leaves it, the worse it is for him. I’m 32, he’s 41, so I could leave it five years and still be 37, but he’d be pushing on 50! It’s up to him.”

Haye: Vitali needs to fight me for the sake of boxing

haye57By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) having failed to attract interest for a fight from WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko from a frontal assault by trash talking him into the fight like he did with his brother Wladimir Klitschko, Haye is now trying to get to Vitali using another tactic by telling him how a fight between the two of them will help the sport of boxing. Is Haye getting desperate?

Haye said to gulfnews.com “If he [Vitali] doesn’t want to do it, then I’ll survive, but for boxing’s sake, I hope he wants a good challenge…I think I can knock him out. He’s getting to the age now, at 41, whereby he’s slowed down slightly.”

There’s a 90% chance Vitali will fight again, Haye likely opponent

vitali322By William Mackay: According to a source close to WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KO’s), there’s a strong chance Vitali will fight again and his likely opponent will be former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye due to the huge money he can generate from the UK pay per view.

The source said to gorodokboxing.com “There is a 90% chance that we will see Vitali in the ring one more time. His opponent could be David Haye, but Haye would have to agree to our terms…I think that he shouldn’t expect any more than 30%. If he agrees to the new deal, than the fight might take place in Germany at one of the indoor stadiums.”

Haye: If Vitali doesn’t face me by summer I’ll accept that he doesn’t want to fight and I’ll retire

haye333By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye is giving WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko a deadline by this summer to show interest in a fight.

If it doesn’t happen, Haye says he’ll retire again from boxing. He doesn’t want to fight anyone in the division, even the two best heavyweights from his own country David Price and Tyson Fury. It doesn’t seem to matter that Haye would make oodles of cash if he fought those two; he only wants Vitali.

Haye said to Sky Sports News “The contracts are already agreed. Everything’s agreed. It’s just a matter of when and where. I’m more than happy to fight in Germany like I did before. I expect the fight to be in Germany. But if it’s not happened by this summer then I’ll accept the fights never going to happen.

David Haye should take heart: Another British Fighter Knocked Vitali Klitschko out before-so it can be done!

Rob Blakeman THE Personal TrainerBy Rob Blakeman: It is 1992 at the European Kick Boxing Championships in Bulgaria. A little known British fighter called Pele Reid was taking on big favourite Vitali Klitschko in the final of what had been an exhausting tournament. The crowd gathered as the smaller Reid was brought out like a sacrificial lamb to face the huge Ukrainian fighter.

The fight began predictably with Reid moving faster and evading Klitschko’s attacks while punching and kicking on the back foot. Even so, not many thought Reid could stay out of trouble much longer but he made it to the end of the first round fairly unscathed. The second round began with Reid now moving in earnest, bouncing around energetically in front of the fairly flat footed and plodding Klitschko.

Haye: I want Vitali to prove he can knock me out

haye456232By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) is still talking about his dream of getting a title shot against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. Haye wants the 41-year-old Ukrainian to prove that he can knock him out after Vitali had previously said he wanted to KO Haye to improve the job his younger brother IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko did in totally dominating a timid Haye in July 2011.

Haye said to I Film London “Deep down, I’d like to believe Vitali is a proud man. He’s promised that he’d knock me out. He said he could know me out where his brother didn’t. Does he really want to prove it or does he want to go off into Ukrainian politics. If it happens it does, if it doesn’t, it doesn’t.”

Bunce: Haye will beat Vitali in 2013

haye44By Scott Gilfoid: Writer Steve Bunce believes that former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye will land a fight with WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko in 2013 and beat him. What a laugh, Haye beating Vitali. That’s never going to happen, believe me.

Bunce said in his column at the independent.co.uk “Haye against Vitali will happen in 2013 and Haye will win…and then this time next year I can predict that he will fight either [David] Price or [Tyson] Fury in the fight of 2014…and trust me, the negotiations for all these fights have started and in boxing currency that is tantamount to a done deal.”

Haye: Vitali needs to fight me to leave a legacy

vitali4By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) thinks that WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KO’s) won’t have much of a legacy if he retires without fighting him. Haye sees little on Vitali’s resume other than his loss to Lennox Lewis as a match against a big named fighter. Haye counts himself as a fighter with a name that will give Vitali some kind of meaningful legacy should he agree to fight him.

Haye said to thesun.co.uk” I always assumed he [Vitali] was quite a proud man and wanted to leave some sort of legacy behind, which he won’t do at the moment because can you think of any big fighters that Vitali has fought? He’s had 50 fights against nobodies…the only recognized heavyweight out there is myself.”

Haye: I’m hoping Vitali will fight me in 2013

haye213By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye BADLY wants to get a final fight in against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitshko before hanging up the gloves next year and he thinks the World Boxing Council wants this fight to happen as well.

Haye said in a Christmas video to boxing fans “I’m hoping for a more explosive 2013 if Vitali Klitschko will allow me to challenge his WBC title. I know the WBC wants it to happen. I know British and World boxing want that to happen. If it doesn’t, I’ve got other things going on. I’ve got my fitness DVD.”

Haye: If Vitali doesn’t want to fight me then I’ll retire

haye434By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) hasn’t given up on his dream to get a fight against 41-year-old Vitali Klitschko (45-2, 41 KO’s) before the two of them go off into the sunset and retire from boxing. However, if Haye can’t get the fight with Vitali, he says he’s going to retire because that’s the only fight he wants for some reason.

I don’t quite understand it because Haye could get some good clean cash if he were to fight some of the British heavyweights like Tyson Fury and David Price. Why not take those fights?
