Klitschko vs. Adamek
Mormeck plans on getting to Wladimir’s “Glass chin” on December 10th
By Jason Kim: 39-year-old former WBA/WBC cruiserweight champion Jean Marc Mormeck (36-4, 22 KO’s) doesn’t care that he’s taking on a fighter a lot bigger than him in 6’6″ IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (56-3, 49 KO’s) on December 10th at the ESPRIT arena, Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
Adamek says size not the reason Vitali is unbeatable
By John F. McKenna (McJack): I have always believed that size is not the reason World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight champ Vitali Klitschk (43-2, 40 KO’s) is so dominant. True “Dr. Ironfist” maximizes his 6’7 ½” height and uses it to his advantage, but there is much more to his being a great fighter than how big he is.
Adamek: I will not move back down to cruiserweight
By Dan Ambrose: Heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KO’s) may not have the size, the power or the talent needed to compete with the Klitschko brothers, but he refused to move back down to the crusierweight division where he at least has a chance to regain a world title and make something out of the remainder of his career.
George Foreman: Vitali is as good as any of the past champions
By Eric Thomas: Big George Foreman (76-5, 68 KO’s) gave WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) a big compliment after his win over Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KO’s) last weekend, saying on his twitter “The champ Klitschko is as good as any other of the past champs. Better than me.”
Now that is a big compliment to be sure, because Foreman was well respected during his prime in the early 70s. However, after beating then WBA/WBC heavyweight champion Joe Frazier by a 2nd round knockout in January 1973, Foreman was only able to successfully defend the title twice, beating Jose Roman and Ken Norton before losing the belts to a 32-year-old Muhammad Ali in October 1974.
Vitali Klitschko finally getting recognition
By John F. McKenna (McJack): It is mind boggling to think that after all his dominating performances in the ring WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) is finally starting to get some recognition from the American media. The recognition is way overdue and even now sometimes given grudgingly.
Wladimir not interested in fighting Vitali’s leftovers, won’t fight Adamek
By Dan Ambrose: If the battered and bloody Polish heavyweight Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KO’s) was interested in fighting IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko after getting whipped by his brother WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko last Saturday night, Adamek got some bad news today when Wladimir ruled out the prospect of him facing the humiliated Admamek, saying he won’t fight him now.
Vitali too strong for Adamek: It was like man against boy
By Dan Ambrose: In a fight that was a sick mismatch even before the bout, WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) totally dominated his smaller Polish opponent Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KO’s) last Saturday night, beating him badly before the referee stepped in to save the pulverized Adamdek in the 10th round.
Is a Super Heavyweight division needed?
What now for Adamek? Should he stay at heavyweight or move down?
By Dan Ambrose: Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KO’s) was badly exposed by WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO’s) last night in Adamek’s 10th round TKO loss in Poland. Vitali showed that the 6’2″ Adamek is simply far too small to compete against a large heavyweight like him and his brother 6’6″ Wladimir Klitschko.
