By William Mackay: Writer Steve Bunce sees Amir Khan’s new trainer Virgil Hunter as little more than the flavor of the month in terms of boxing trainers, and he doesn’t see this relationship lasting very long. Bunce believes that Hunter is about as good as Khan’s last trainer Freddie Roach.

Khan believes that Hunter is going to turn his career around and completely and bring him back to where he was when he was a world champion in the light welterweight division.

Hunter has built the large part of his new found popularity as a trainer due to the great job he’s done his top fighter WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward, who clearly is the best fighter in the 168 pound division right now. However, just because Hunter was able to do that with the totally focused and serous minded Ward doesn’t necessarily mean he’s going to be able to do the same for Khan. There’s a world of difference between what Hunter had to work with initially with Ward compared to what he has in front of him with Khan.

Image: Khan wants Molina fight in UKBy William Mackay: Amir Khan (26-3, 18 KO’s) is saying that he wants his December 15th fight against lightweight Carlos Molina (17-0, 7 KO’s) to take place in the UK where it might make a lot more money than it would be in the United States.

Khan said to the Dailystar.co.uk “We’re still in talks about where it will be. It’s where it will make most financial sense but I want it to be in Britain for my British fan base.”

A 5’6″ Molina vs. the 5’10” Khan equal huge mismatch.

The news of this fight has been greeted with happiness from a lot of clueless boxing fans who mistakenly think this is the JUNIOR MIDDLEWEIGHT Carlos Molina, the one that recently fought James Kirkland. It’s not. I wish it was that version of Molina, but then again Khan would likely get dominated by that guy because he’s a really good fighter.
