Khan said to the Dailystar.co.uk “We’re still in talks about where it will be. It’s where it will make most financial sense but I want it to be in Britain for my British fan base.”

It does make a lot more sense Khan to stage the fight in the UK, because a fight between Khan and Molina won’t draw many fans in the U.S, even if they stage in Las Vegas, Nevada. Khan has been fighting in the U.S for the past two years and he’s yet to prove that he can sell tickets. Of course, Khan hasn’t helped himself by getting beaten by Lamont Peterson and Danny Garcia in his last two fights. But at this point I think the efforts by Golden Boy Promotions, Khan’s promoters, to try and make a star out of him in the U.S has been a big disappointment.

Khan isn’t a big ticket seller and of course he’s a million light years away from becoming a pay per view attraction in the U.S. Khan is much better off ending the U.S experiment and just fighting at home in the UK where he has a huge British fan base and where’s he proven that he’s a big ticket seller. I really think that’s the best thing that Khan can do until he can land an important fight against one of the big name attractions in the U.S like Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Those are fights that could make Khan a star in the U.S if he won but fighting guys like Garcia, Peterson and Paulie Malignaggi isn’t going to do much for Khan. He might as well stay over the UK and fight in front of large crowds until he’s got an opponent in the U.S that is a big ticket seller.
