By William Mackay: Trainer/HBO boxing analyst Emanuel Steward doesn’t like the way that former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (26-3, 18 KO’s) has been hurt so many times in such a short period of time in his still young career, and Steward believes that Khan needs to take a nice break to let himself recover from all the punishment he’s taken in his fights.

Khan believes that Garcia isn’t keen on giving him an immediate rematch and may choose to go in another direction for his next fight instead. I think Amir Khan (26-3, 18 KO’s) might be one of those types of fighters for trainer Freddie Roach. Having a needy fighter like Khan around is a negative because when he does fail, and you know he’s going to, the trainer has the spotlight put on him for somehow failing him. The trainer is put in the hot seat all of a sudden, and you get people questioning whether the trainer knows what he’s doing.
