By Dan Ambrose: WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) is hoping to get a fight against Manny Pacquiao after Bradley faces and beats WBA Super World light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) on July 23, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Bradley’s last fight with his current promoter Gary Shaw will end with the Khan fight, and you can bet that if Bradley beats Khan, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum will immediately sign Bradley to a promotional contract and thus we’ll be seeing a Top Rank in house fight between Bradley and Pacquiao, who also is a Top Rank fighter.

By William Mackay: WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) gave a glimpse of his next fight when being interviewed by HBO last Saturday night at the Nonito Donaire vs. Fernando Montiel fight at Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, saying that he’ll be fighting WBA Super World light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) on July 23rd in Las Vegas, Nevada. Where things got kind of weird is when Bradley “Hopefully I get Khan in the ring with me, so Khan stop running, Man. It’s time to get it on. Stop running Amir Khan.”

By William Mackay: If WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) can beat his hand-picked next opponent Paul McCloskey (22-0, 12 KO’s) in April, it will put the 24-year-old Khan on course to meet up with WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) in an important unification bout this summer on July 23rd at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Although Khan likes to fight in the UK, he’ll have to make this one in the U.S. if he wants to try and build a following here. This will be a very big fight for Khan, because it will give him three of the title belts in his possession should he beat Bradley. There will only be one belt remaining and that’s the IBF title belt that will be fought over by Kaizer Mabuza and Zab Judah next month on March 5th.

You can add British promoter Frank Warren to that growing list. Warren thinks WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) would beat Bradley when/if they fight.

Timothy Bradley exposed Devon Alexander for what this writer has always observed of Alexander, he is a mentally weak fighter, incapable of controlling a fight against more intelligent opponents. Bradley looked like he always looks, ugly as hell, but he wins his fights.

Using his head, albeit accidentally, Bradley was able to inflict a lot of punishment against Alexander and take the fight out of him.

Khan has a tune-up fight coming up on April 16th, and Bradley has a fight that he will need to take before they can meet up in the Summer. The Khan-Bradley fight is a mouth-watering bout that HBO is really looking forward to putting together. But first things first, Khan has to pick out an opponent for April 16th for a fight in front of his fans in the UK.

By William Mackay: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) saw WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley’s win over WBC light welterweight champion Devon Alexander (21-1, 13 KO’s) on Saturday night, and said that he wants to fight Bradley in England, before September 10th. Khan said he needs to get his April 16th tune-up fight out of the way and then, depending on the rematch clause that Alexander had, would like to fight Bradley later on in the year.
Will Khan still be considered a great fighter if Bradley knocks him cold?
By Scott Gilfoid: It’s amusing that Amir Khan’s boxing fans are already calling him a great fighter even though he almost got spanked in his last fight against Marcos Maidana and barely got out of the fight without getting knocked out. Thus far, I fail to see anything remotely great about Khan. I don’t even see the hint of greatness. I just see some skinny guy with fast hands that runs around the ring and every once in awhile flicks out a three to four weak punches that mostly miss before he starts running again.
