By Michael Lieberman: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s) has given his time-line for when he plans on fighting a unification bout against WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s), saying that he’ll be fighting Bradley in the Summer or later. Khan has a tune-up fight coming up on April 16th, and Bradley has a fight that he will need to take before they can meet up in the Summer. The Khan-Bradley fight is a mouth-watering bout that HBO is really looking forward to putting together. But first things first, Khan has to pick out an opponent for April 16th for a fight in front of his fans in the UK.

Khan had this to say about the Bradley mega fight on his twitter page: “Khan v Bradley in UK around Summer or later in the year, depending on when Ramadan is. What a great unification fight for UK fans.”

This is going to be excellent fight for all fans not just UK fans. Bradley is considered to be the best fighter in the light welterweight so it’s going to be interesting to see how Khan, the #2 fighter in the division, does against Bradley. Top Rank promoter Bob Arum said recently that he believes that Bradley, because of the pressure he puts on his opponents, would beat Khan. Arum thinks Khan doesn’t have the power to keep Bradley off. I don’t agree with that. I think Khan has a lot of power and will be able to keep Bradley on the outside where he’ll be helpless due to his lack of reach. This will be a much easier fight for Khan than his last one was against Marcos Maidana, because Bradley doesn’t have Maidana’s power or size.
