Can Amir Khan be “Great” as De La Hoya says?

By Saqib Khan:

Let’s look at the Positive points:

Amir Khan was an Olympics silver medallist at the age of seventeen. Not many boxers can boast that kind of accomplishment he joined the likes of Roy Jones, Oscar De La Hoya, Joel Casamayor , Floyd Mayweather Jr. to win a medal at the Olympics. That was a phenomenal Olympics for the teenager, he was only seventeen.

Khan signs new four-fight contract with Golden Boy Promotions

By William Mackay: WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (25-1, 17 KO’s) has signed a new four-fight contract with Golden Boy Promotions that will carry Khan through some of the most critical fights of his career. Unless Khan is spoon fed opponents like his last one Paul McCloskey, Khan’s career may be in a tailspin by the time his four-fight contract has ended. First off, Khan, 24, has a fight coming up against WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) on July 23rd.

Khan hoping to fight Bradley in the UK

By William Mackay: Despite WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan 24-1, 17 KO’s) saying he wanted to become a big star in the United States, he’s fighting on Saturday in the UK against a lesser known fighter named Paul McCloskey (22-0, 12 KO’s), who isn’t even a star in the UK. If Khan gets by McCloskey, which is probable given McCloskey’s slow hand speed and lack of power, Khan says he wouldn’t mind fighting his next bout in the UK as well against WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Timothy Bradley.

Image: Has Timothy Bradley been sold out by his promoter and team?By Mark Hepplestall: The recent speculation of a bout between WBC/WBO Light Welterweight champion Timothy Bradley (27-0, 11 KO’s) and WBA champion Amir Khan (24-1, 17 KO’s), subject to Khan beating McCloskey is possibly the most exciting fight on paper which should exceed their previous bouts and catapult the winner into superstardom. However I see this as awful matchmaking by Timothy Bradley’s team because judging on his recent fights I am really struggling to see how he can win, is it possible that his promoter and team have given up on making Bradley into a superstar and are just cashing in and feeding Bradley to Khan?
