How do British fans feel after paying to see Haye vs. Harrison?

Image: How do British fans feel after paying to see Haye vs. Harrison?By Scott Gilfoid: British boxing fans sure must be desperate to see local heavyweights fight, because why else would they pay to watch a bout between David Haye and Audley Harrison. WBA heavyweight champion Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) had yet another easy win this time over 39-year-old Harrison (27-5, 20 KO’s) in a 3rd round TKO last night at the M.E.N. Arena, in Manchester, England. While boxing fans outside of the UK were disgusted by this mismatch going into the fight, it seems that for a lot of British boxing fans this was an appealing fight. They loved this little mismatch.

Haye says Harrison was “Too petrified” to hit him

Image: Haye says Harrison was “Too petrified” to hit himBy Sean McDaniel: It was an easy night’s work for WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) on Saturday night against challenger Audley Harrison (27-5, 20 KO’s) in a total blowout win for Haye. Harrison never got his offense untracked in the fight, only throwing one punch in the three rounds of action. Haye capitalized on this by unloading with some bombs in the 3rd to first knock Harrison down and then take him out after he got back to his feet after receiving an eight count.

Audley Harrison says he’s going to “reflect” about whether to continue his career

By Sean McDaniel: After getting blown out by WBA heavyweight champion David Haye in a 3rd round TKO on Saturday night, Audley Harrison (27-5, 20 KO’s) says “I’ve got to sit down and reflect” on what to do next with his career. Harrison, 39, was never competitive in the fight against Haye, and seemed to freeze completely to the point where he failed to let his hands go. It might have been too much of a high pressure situation for Harrison to adequately perform to the best of his ability.

The night David Haye made Audley’s Destiny to Retire

By Gary Jones: So the best of enemies seem to be the best of friends once again, this was a night where Audley “A-Force” Harrison could realise his destiny (as he puts it) and finally claim that piece of gold that has eluded him for over ten years, but all that came to an end when David “Haymaker” Haye got a TKO victory in the third round.

Hatton says Harrison gave Haye “Nothing to worry about”

By Sean McDaniel: Former two-division world champion Ricky Hatton thinks Audley Harrison (27-5, 20 KO’s) didn’t fight the right fight tonight in losing a 3rd round TKO to World Boxing Association (WBA) heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) at the M.E.N. By William Mackay: Moments after stopping a hand-picked 39-year-old Audley Harrison (27-5, 20 KO’s) in the 3rd round on Saturday night at the M.E.N. Arena, in Manchester, England, WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (25-1, 23 KO’s) said he would be fighting the Klitschko brothers next year. However, Haye expects to use his win over the fringe contender Harrison as leverage to get a better deal out of IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and that may be a mistake on Haye’s part.

Mike Tyson thinks Haye will have problems against the Klitschkos

By William Mackay: In Sky Sports News Haye vs. Harrison countdown special, Mike Tyson was shown video of WBA heavyweight champion David Haye’s last fight against 38-year-old John Ruiz in April of this year. Tyson didn’t seem all that impressed with what he saw Haye’s form in that fight, as he pointed out that Haye needs to throw more jabs, hold his hands up higher. Tyson said Haye would have problems against the Klitschko brothers fighting like that. Tyson also thinks the 6’6” Harrison will have no problems hitting Haye due to Haye’s low guard, lack of head movement and the fact he doesn’t move a lot.

Haye vs. Harrison tonight!

Image: Haye vs. Harrison tonight!By Murdock MClain: I still cant believe the David Haye vs. Audley Harrison fight is happening. Olympic Gold medalist Harrison since turning professional has been an embarrassment to British boxing. Starting out fighting doormen, and then stinking out venues fighting other British prospects. He then won a tournament called Prizefighter when he fought has-been and blown up fighters over the 3 round distance. This some how warranted him a shot for the vacant European title. This fight was a complete joke where he fought Michael Sprott, who should have been in the prizefighter tournament but was forced to pull out.
