Image: Haye vs. Harrison tonight!By Murdock MClain: I still cant believe the David Haye vs. Audley Harrison fight is happening. Olympic Gold medalist Harrison since turning professional has been an embarrassment to British boxing. Starting out fighting doormen, and then stinking out venues fighting other British prospects. He then won a tournament called Prizefighter when he fought has-been and blown up fighters over the 3 round distance. This some how warranted him a shot for the vacant European title. This fight was a complete joke where he fought Michael Sprott, who should have been in the prizefighter tournament but was forced to pull out.

Michael Sprott doesn’t have a great resume but is a good British fighter who dominated Audley for 11 and a half rounds. Harrison who after 3 rounds had been fighting one handed ( I believe he was just getting an excuse ready ) lucked out as when Sprott tried to KO him in the last round he landed a cracking shot, Knocking Sprott out. He then vacated the title so he never beat a champion and never defended it, so in my eyes is not a champion.

So then Haye after failing to negotiate with the Klitchskos, instead of fighting a genuine contender for his title like Adamek, Arreola etc, ends up taking on Harrison. Selling it to the British public simple so its easy money for him. I believe this fight will be a farce and will bring embarrassment on Haye, Britain and Heavyweight boxing. The fight will be as one sided as any of the Klitschkos last 10 fights. As the world waits for the heavyweight division to take off it just never seems too.

Back to Harrison when he talks about the fight you can see the fear in his eyes and you can he is trying to convince himself that HE CAN DO IT.The press conferences have involved Haye being his usually brutal self and Harrison mumbling through rhymes and quoting poets. He looks like a fighter but as soon and it gets to tough he doesn’t want to know. Just look at him during his ring walk he will look terrified. I fully expect him as soon as he gets hit with a decent shot to quit, and i mean QUIT. It will be worse than anything Duran, Douglas or Cotto ever did. He has punchers chance like all heavyweight contenders but don’t hold your breath. If Harrison wins he has said he’ll retire, which goes to show hes just in it for the money and he couldn’t defend it anyway. I’ll be watching and Britain will be watching but I hope no one else does.
