Senchenko thinks he’ll get Khan fight if he beats Hatton on Saturday

Image: Senchenko thinks he'll get Khan fight if he beats Hatton on SaturdayBy William Mackay: Former WBA World welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-1, 21 KO’s) is under the impression that he can get a fight against former IBF/WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan if Senchenko wins his fight this Saturday night against Ricky Hatton (45-2, 32 KO’s) at the Manchester Arena.

Senchenko said “I could fight Amir Khan if I win.”

I looks like Golden Boy Promotions must have spoke to Senchenko about making the fight with Khan. That’s probably a much bigger money fight for Senchenko than it would be for him to fight a rematch against Paulie Malignaggi, who stopped him in 9 rounds earlier this year last April.

Ricky Hatton sheds 70 lbs for Senchenko bout

Image: Ricky Hatton sheds 70 lbs for Senchenko boutBy Scott Gilfoid: If you’re wondering why Ricky Hatton (45-2, 32 KO’s) doesn’t look as powerful as he once did this Saturday night in his comeback fight against Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-1, 21 KO’s) at the Manchester Arena it’s probably because of all the weight that Hatton has taken off to get down to 147 in addition to the three and half years he’s been out of the ring.

During Hatton’s retirement following his loss to Manny Pacquiao, Hatton put on a lot of weight through overeating, not exercising and drinking. Hatton reportedly lost 5 stones [70 pounds] to get down to 147 for this fight, and that is an astronomical amount of weight for someone fighting at only 147. Hatton lost One-third of his body weight to fight the Ukrainian Senchenko.

Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko: The Verdict

Image: Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko: The VerdictWow! Some of the writers on here live in the land of fiction. Not saying no names… But I guess this is pretty obvious…First of all I don’t claim to be ‘un-biased’ towards certain boxers because every fan has there favorites. But I will always try and give two opinions. One with my heart and the other with my head.

Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko

Less of the small talk and more of the facts from now on! The next big fight card will be the return of one of the most loved british fighters ever, Ricky Hatton (45-2).

Hatton: I have too much for Senchenko

Image: Hatton: I have too much for SenchenkoBy William Mackay: Ricky Hatton (45-2, 32 KO’s) will be attempting to bring his game back to the early stages of his career this Saturday night in facing former WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-1, 21 KO’s) in Hatton’s comeback fight at the Manchester Arena in Manchester United Kingdom.

It’s been 3 1/2 years since Hatton last fought and it’s been even longer than that since he last looked really good in the ring. You’d have to go back as far as 2005 to when Hatton last was fighting at a high level using movement and fast shots. After 2005, Hatton stopped using movement and started attacking his opponents in straight lines.

Ricky Hatton looking tremendous in preparation for his fight against Senchenko

Image: Ricky Hatton looking tremendous in preparation for his fight against SenchenkoBy Marcus Stewart: Legendary British fighter Ricky Hatton is looking in tremendous shape for his upcoming fight against former WBA welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko on November 24th at the Manchester Arena, in Manchester, England. Hatton looks lean, mean and ready to rumble. His hand speed’s looking once again fantastic along with his awesome power. Hatton’s under the tuition of Bob Shannon and is therefore going to learn a lot from the talented British trainer. He’s been slated off weirdly enough for losing “too much weight” by certain writers, one in particular, yet what else is he supposed to do? Fight with all that weight, unhealthy, etc. Pretty laughable for someone to state that if you ask me.

Senchenko does bring a fair bit to the table when it comes to power. He does possess a solid straight right which is his main weapon. Nevertheless I’m sure that Hatton will be wary of that and make sure that he’s able to get his punches off first.

Hatton-Senchenko: Is Ricky begging to be knocked out?

Image: Hatton-Senchenko: Is Ricky begging to be knocked out?By Scott Gilfoid: Normally when fighters come off of a long layoff like the one that Ricky Hatton (46-2, 32 KO’s) has had they tend to want to have a number of tune-up fights in order to get the rust off and to find out where they’re at, but not Hatton. He’s not fought in over 3 years and will be taking on former WBA World welterweight champion Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-1, 21 KO’s) on November 24th this month in Manchester.

It just looks like a really risky move on Hatton’s part. Does he have a secret wish to get knocked out cold again or is this just a way to help cushion the blow for if he fails to shine. Looking at from one angle, Hatton could be choosing someone a lot better than he should be fighting because it won’t look nearly so bad if he gets spanked by Senchenko then it would be if Hatton picked out a nice 3rd tier fighter and got knocked out cold.

Hatton not looking good in getting ready for Senchenko

Image: Hatton not looking good in getting ready for SenchenkoBy Scott Gilfoid: Former two division world champion Ricky Hatton doesn’t look at all good in his recent workout video I saw of him at the BBC Sport as he gets ready for his November 24th fight against Vyacheslav Senchenko in Manchester, England. There’s a few things that really stood out from watching him starting with his skills.

Hatton looks a lot slower than he did years ago, and his timing and coordination seem way off. Hatton couldn’t hit the pads that his trainer was holding out and he looked completely exhausted and red in the face. Hatton’s skin also doesn’t look that good. He looks as if he’s aged something fierce, and the skin just hanging off of him the way it does for people that suddenly lose a dramatic amount of weight in a short period of time.

Hatton’s return: Mayweather & Pacquiao should be worried

Image: Hatton's return: Mayweather & Pacquiao should be worriedI have recently read articles on BN24 as well as other community sites and I can’t quite believe the split in opinion that Ricky Hatton’s come back has seemed to create.

To address the come back itself – Ricky Hatton was once the biggest star in British Boxing and right up in the top 3-4 in the world for fan base and interest. This success was a direct result of his down to earth attitude regardless of fame and fortune making him known as a man of the people and of course largely because of his exciting, come forward, never say die approach to every fight he ever had.

The negative side to Hatton’s career was also well documented and speculated to be the downfall of his career long before he ever retired…..His weight gain from a lifestyle non suited to boxing at the highest level.

Hatton vs. Senchenko: Ricky’s ability to take head shots may have been compromised

Image: Hatton vs. Senchenko: Ricky's ability to take head shots may have been compromisedBy Scott Gilfoid: Ricky Hatton (45-2, 32 KO’s) may have made a big mistake in deciding to comeback to boxing after three years out of the sport living well, eating well, drinking well and having the soft life of a multi-millionaire. Hatton hasn’t had to dig any ditches or get on his hands and knees to install carpet or hardwood floors in the UK. Hatton’s opponent Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-1, 21 KO’s) knows exactly how to beat a fighter like Hatton. You after his head and put him in the same face down position he was in against Manny Pacquiao.

Hatton is coming back after three years and having gained – and lost – a mess of flab. But even before Hatton left the sport in 2009, he was knocked out by Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, and there’s questions whether Hatton’s ability to take a hard head shot had been compromised by his knockout loss to Mayweather in addition to all the weight that Hatton typically gaining and losing. When I saw Hatton staggering about after getting hit by Juan Lazcano I felt that Hatton wouldn’t be in the sport and sure enough he retired after his next fight against Pacquiao.

Hatton can beat Senchenko, says Elwell

By Scott Gilfoid: Former Vyacheslav Senchenko (32-1, 21 KO’s) knockout victim Stuart Elwell thinks that Ricky Hatton (45-2, 32 KO’s) will be able to beat the 35-year-old Ukrainian Senchenko when they fight on November 24th of this month at the Manchester Arena (formerly M.E.N Arena), in Manchester, Lancashire, United Kingdom.
