Image: Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko: The VerdictWow! Some of the writers on here live in the land of fiction. Not saying no names… But I guess this is pretty obvious…First of all I don’t claim to be ‘un-biased’ towards certain boxers because every fan has there favorites. But I will always try and give two opinions. One with my heart and the other with my head.

Ricky Hatton v Vyacheslav Senchenko

Less of the small talk and more of the facts from now on! The next big fight card will be the return of one of the most loved british fighters ever, Ricky Hatton (45-2). He will make his return to the ring against Vyacheslav Senchenko (33-1) who’s last outing was against a much matured and improved Pauli Malignaggi (32-4) where he lost his WBA strap due to stoppage on cuts (Malignaggi was clear favorite at this point to claim the WBA title). The method behind a lot of people thinking this will be an easy victory for Hatton  because of the way he dominated Pauli Malignaggi four years ago and he is the link between the two fighters.

I would agree that Ricky Hatton of 2008 would dispatch Senchenko within the distance but we are talking about an aged and inactive fighter. Just to state I am a huge Ricky Hatton and I do believe he will win this fight. I think that Senchenko does also have a good opportunity to cause an upset if he uses his jab to full effect to dishearten Hatton and knock his confidence.

There are two questions which will define this fight is Ricky Hatton able to get to the standard of a world level fighter again? And is Senchenko a fighter who has been carefully matched and is fighting two levels above where he should be?

As I said earlier I have two opinions:

My heart says: Ricky hatton will swarm him with body shots and have Senchenko  down between rounds 5-7.

My head says: Ricky Hatton will win unanimous decision in a scrappy fight which each boxer lacks any serious quality to finish their opponent or put decent combinations together.

My tip for the fight: Ricky Hatton on points (2/1)

Long shot: Ricky Hatton Round Nine (20/1)

Thanks for reading.
