By Chris Williams: In looking back at World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch’s performance against Jermain Taylor last Saturday night, I’d have to say that Froch probably failed miserably in gaining any new American or British boxing fans despite his come from behind 12th round TKO win over Taylor. The performance was fatally flawed due to Froch being knocked down in the 3rd round, dominated for the first half of the fight, and his lack of any real defensive skills.

Froch Wins But Ends Up Looking Like a Loser
By Scott Gilfoid: I think it’s safe to say that WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch proved exactly nothing in beating Jermain Taylor in 12th round TKO with 14 seconds left in the fight. It’s funny how many of Froch’s fans were all over him after the fight, making it out as if Froch had accomplished something. Now that there’s been a little bit of time for them to think about the fight, many of Froch’s same boxing fans have quickly started to distance themselves from him.
Mikkel Kessler Would Beat Carl Froch
By Inder Sirha: With all do respects to the undefeated Carl Froch, who I have followed and watched his fights up and coming into the boxing world before his first test with Pascal, his surprising comeback victory over Jermaine Taylor just lacked a display of talent. I just truly believe if he were to fight Mikkel Kessler (41-1, 31 KOs), the holder of the World Boxing Association super middleweight title, Froch would lose heavily to Kessler by a one sided beating.

After the fight, Froch, 31, called out former WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe, saying “Joe Calzaghe was using the excuse that nobody knows who I am in American. Now everybody knows who I am, so he [Calzaghe] has no excuse now.”

Will Beating Taylor Give Froch the Respect He’s Searching For?
Photo: Naoki Fukuda / SHOWTIME -By Sean McDaniel: Despite beating Jean Pascal in December to capture the WBC super middleweight title, Carl Froch (24-0, 19 KOs) still doesn’t get anywhere close the kind of respect and media attention that Joe Calzaghe did during his career. Of course, Calzaghe held his WBO super middleweight title for 10 long years without suffering a defeat. Froch obviously has a long ways to go before he’s thought of in similar terms and at thirty-one, he may never reach it due to his advanced age.

Photo: Tom Casino/SHOWTIME – By Matt Stein: WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (24-0, 19 KOs) is running into former WBC/WBO middleweight champion Jermain Taylor (28-2-1, 17 KOs) at exactly wrong time in his career. On Saturday night at the Foxwoods Resort Casino, in Mashantucket, Connecticut,, Froch, 31, will be facing a re-energized Taylor who will walk over anything to get a title and destroy anyone to bring his career back after suffering two defeats to Kelly Pavlik.
