Mikkel Kessler Would Beat Carl Froch

kessler434468By Inder Sirha: With all do respects to the undefeated Carl Froch, who I have followed and watched his fights up and coming into the boxing world before his first test with Pascal, his surprising comeback victory over Jermaine Taylor just lacked a display of talent. I just truly believe if he were to fight Mikkel Kessler (41-1, 31 KOs), the holder of the World Boxing Association super middleweight title, Froch would lose heavily to Kessler by a one sided beating.

Carl Froch failed to impress the boxing world outside the UK (I am English by the way) with his late 12th round stoppage of Jermain Taylor last Saturday night in Connecticut. Froch showed no skills in the technical side of boxing, although what he did show was that he was willing to take risks by going over to America to defend his WBC Super-middleweight belt.

Also, Froch displayed heart and showed that he is a dangerous fighter until the final bell. After the bout ended, Froch called out the retired former WBO super middleweight champion Joe Calzaghe, who is not a Floyd Mayweather Jr., and will not be returning to the sport. I think Froch knows this and should be calling out names of active fighters rather than the retired Calzaghe.

Mikkel Kessler could be a possible opponent for Carl Froch, but I feel that Carl would lose this fight due to his lack of boxing skills and defence. Since Froch is calling out the only guy that has beaten Kessler in Joe Calzaghe, Froch should look to try beat Kessler instead. Kessler is the real deal, a mean machine of the super middleweight world, and would likely school Froch in the same manner that Bernard Hopkins schooled WBC/WBO middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik.

I also feel Kessler with give Carl Froch his first defeat by knockout in the middle rounds. As Carl is looking for the big fights, he should train hard and take a page from the Manny Pacquiao’s book and go for the gold.
