Froch vowing that he won’t let up on Kessler in their rematch

froch65By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch thinks he’s figured out what he did wrong the last time he fought Mikkel Kessler three years ago and he’s vowing not to make the same mistakes when he faces Kessler in their rematch next month on May 25th at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

Froch figures that he made the mistake of backing off when he had Kessler in the pocket and he thinks he would have been better off just staying put and letting his hands go.

Froch said to thisisnottingham.co.uk “Last time I was throwing wild bombs and standing back and admiring them. There will be none of that this time around. Once I get Kessler on the hook, I’m going to reel him in.”

Froch believes his combination punching will KO Kessler

kessler43By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) thinks he’s come up with the game plans of all game plans to beat WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35 KO’s) in their rematch on May 25th at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

So what is Froch’s genius of a plan? It’s simple. All Froch is going to do is use the same blueprint that he used to defeat Lucian Bute last year by standing directly in front of Kessler and throwing 12 punch combinations. In Froch’s mind, this is the surefire way to beat the Dane once for all.

Froch still making excuses about his loss to Kessler

froch11By Scott Gilfoid: It’s three years later and IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) is still bellyaching about his 12 round unanimous decision loss to Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35 KO’s) from April 2010 in the Super Six tournament. Froch has seemingly never been able to come to terms with that loss, and he just can’t admit that he lost to the more talented fighter without putting the blame on some other factor.

Froch said to Sky Sports “I wasn’t 100 per cent and I still nearly beat him. Now, I’m on the crest of a wave…I was ill-prepared last time, my flight was delayed because of the ash cloud. I’ll be ready this time, more than ready, and he won’t be able to cope.”

Froch: Kessler and I are the two best super middleweights in the world

YouTube video
By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) has been pining away for a rematch with WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35 KO’s) ever since he got whipped by him three years ago in the Super Six tournament in April 2010.

After hounding Kessler for the rematch, Froch was able to finally get the rematch scheduled for May 25th at the O2 Arena, in London, United Kingdom. Since his fight with Kessler, Froch has been beaten by WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward by a fairly lopsided 12 round decision in December 2011.

Froch: Kessler can’t stand in front of me; I’m genetically gifted

ward56344By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) battles WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35 KO’s) in a little over two month on May 25th in London.

Last time Froch and Kessler fought three years ago, Kessler was simply too much for Froch when the two fighters went toe-to-toe, but this time Froch believes that Kessler can’t stand in front of him without getting hurt.

Froch believes this because he’s won his last two fights against Lucian Bute and Yusaf Mack, and neither of which did well when they made the mistake of standing in front of Froch.

Kessler-Froch 2: Mikkel has the talent to win this

kessler342334By Steven Ocallaghan: On the 25th May at the O2 Arena in London, arguably the biggest fight of the year takes place between 2 of the most exciting fighters of the last decade. IF super middleweight champion Carl Froch gets his long awaited rematch with one of only 2 guys to have beaten him, Mikkel Kessler. The first fight between these to warriors was a classic, just two guys completely letting go. A fight that could have went either way, I thought Kessler had done enough.

I think that fight had a wee change in strategy for Froch, because after that close battle he upped his work rate, which I think lost him the Kessler fight. Remember he was losing to Jermain Taylor until he got the 12th round KO. When it came to the Ward fight, he couldn’t figure Ward out, constantly getting tied up. Possibly a closer fight than many thought because I think when the scorecards were read out and two judges had it by only 2 rounds, many thought it was by at least 4.

Froch vs. Kessler: Carl about to make the same mistake as last time

froch6By Scott Gilfoid: If you’ve listened to some of the comments from IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch in describing what he intends on doing against WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler in their rematch on May 25th, it becomes clear that Froch is going to try and out-brawl Kessler by fighting even harder than last time they fought back in April 2010.

Froch seems to think he can whip Kessler by throwing more combinations than last time. Froch’s grand plan for beating Kessler is by throwing 6-six punch combinations each time he lets his hands go. In other words, Froch will be throwing flurries after flurries, hoping for the best.

Carl Froch to have his finest hour against Mikkel Kessler

1CphBy Mark Havey: May 25th will be a date most fans will certainly have made a mental note of. Carl Froch will be stepping in the ring in a bid to avenge his first career defeat against Mikkel Kessler. Both men like battle, not with tactics, but with audacious courage and ferocity.

The fight is very likely to be shown on PPV which Britain won’t be happy about. But I’m sure no one will be complaining after the fight. Value for money is stamped all over this fight. Skill shouldn’t be something you should be expecting in this fight. Froch and Kessler don’t like to out think their opponents, they prefer to out fight them.

Froch vs. Kessler on April 27th

froch343By Scott Gilfoid: It’s reported that IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) will be fighting WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35 KO’s) on April 27th instead of May 25th, as originally thought, according to rds.ca. The winner of the Froch-Kessler will fight will have 90 days to face #1 IBF Adonis Stevenson.

If the winner doesn’t fight Stevenson then they’ll be stripped of their IBF title by the International Boxing Federation, that is, if they don’t vacate first to avoid the fight.
The venue for the Froch-Kessler fight is thought to be O2 Arena in London, England, but that still needs to be worked out.

Ward will fight the winner of Froch vs. Kessler in any country in the world (as long as it’s USA)

ward4By Thomas Cowan: WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward seems to be extremely confused about what he wants from his next fights. When asked recently if he would want a rematch with Carl Froch or Mikkel Kessler, Ward told ES News, “I don’t care what country it’s in, it’s not going the distance.” Ward then seems to change his mind saying, “People have to understand that I don’t have to go to the UK to be a star, they have to come here if they want to be considered all-time greats.”

After Froch beat Yusuf Mack in November, Ward also posted a tweet suggesting he would like to fight in the UK but he now seems to be going back of his word. It looks like Ward is scared to fight outside USA. Surely a fighter that holds 2 out of 4 world titles should be prepared to go out any corner of the world to fight a guy he knows he can dominate if he can capture the IBF title and move a step closer to unifying the division.
