Froch believes his combination punching will KO Kessler

kessler43By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) thinks he’s come up with the game plans of all game plans to beat WBA super middleweight champion Mikkel Kessler (46-2, 35 KO’s) in their rematch on May 25th at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

So what is Froch’s genius of a plan? It’s simple. All Froch is going to do is use the same blueprint that he used to defeat Lucian Bute last year by standing directly in front of Kessler and throwing 12 punch combinations. In Froch’s mind, this is the surefire way to beat the Dane once for all.

Froch said to Sky Sports “Now I’m on the crest of a wave. Against Kessler I was just landing one punch at a time, but against Bute, I was landing combinations of 12, 14 punches.”

So in other words, Froch is going to use the same plan that he used against Bute and try to make it work against Kessler in a one size fits all type of move for Froch.

Okay, here are my thoughts on Froch’s brilliant brainchild strategy. I can’t think of a dumber strategy than that. If Froch wants to give Kessler the win then that’s on him, but if he doesn’t want to look like a complete dork in front of his British fans on May 25th, then he better come up with something a little more intelligent than that because it’s not going to work, and it never would.

Froch is basically going to use the same strategy that Librado Andrade attempted against Kessler back in March 2007. Andrade came out with the same nonstop punching strategy that Froch has devised, and it was totally useless strategy, as Kessler was able to jab Andrade to the head each time he plodded forward looking to land his combos.

At the same time, Kessler was able to move around the ring to keep Andrade from being able to set up camp in front of him to get his shots off. The fight turned out to be completely one-sided in an embarrassing way for Andrade.
