By Scott Gilfoid: Former heavyweight champion Joseph Parker has been sparring with former world title challenger Eric Molina to prepare for his fight against Dillian Whyte this month on July 28 on Sky Box Office at the O2 Arena in London, England. Their fight now is 18 days away, and Parker, 26, wants to be fully prepared for Whyte (23-1, 17 KOs) when he steps inside the ring with the 30-year-old.

Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale fights on Nov.4
After an unexpected two weeks which included uncertainty and disappointment, heavyweight contender Dominic “Trouble” Breazeale (18-1, 16 KO’s) will return to the ring after all on November 4, 2017 on the Premier Boxing Champions series on Showtime Extreme. Breazeale was originally scheduled to face Bermane Stiverne (25-2-1, 21 KO’s) in what would have been a WBC heavyweight title eliminator with the winner facing either Deontay Wilder (38-0, 37 KO’s) or Luis “King Long” Ortiz (27-0, 23 KO’s). With Ortiz later testing positive for a banned substance, Stiverne was elevated to the main-event now facing Wilder and subsequently leaving Breazeale without an opponent.

Molina blames loss to Joshua on inadequate preparation
By Scott Gilfoid: 34-year-old Eric Molina (25-4, 19 KOs) says a combination of inadequate preparation and jetlag were the reasons for his 3rd round knockout loss to IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (18-0, 18 KOs) last Saturday night at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Molina was given only 39 days to prepare for the fight against the 27-year-old Joshua and five of those days were spent flying. It wasn’t enough time for him to prepare properly for the fight. That might explain why the 6’4” Molina didn’t throw a heck of a lot of punches in the fight before he was banged out in round 3 after getting dropped.
Joshua vs. Klitschko officially announced for April 29
By Scott Gilfoid: Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn officially announced the Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko fight for April 29 last Saturday night following Joshua’s 3rd round knockout win over #8 IBF challenger Eric Molina (25-4, 19 KOs) at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. Hearn and Klitschko both came inside the ring to discuss the April 29th Joshua-Klitschko fight, which will be taking place at the 90,000 seat Wembley Arena in London, UK. The fight will be shown on Sky Box Office PPV in the UK. It’s unclear whether HBO Championship Boxing will televise the fight in the States.
It wouldn’t be surprising if the fight winds up on HBO PPV in the U.S. I would hope that they don’t make that move, because then it would be seen by very, very few boxing fans. Joshua isn’t well known in the U.S, and Wladimir never did become a star over there for some reason. Putting Joshua vs. Klitschko on PPV might be a recipe for disaster, especially given that Hearn is trying to make Joshua a star in the U.S.
Anthony Joshua destroys Eric Molina – Results
By Scott Gilfoid: IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (18-0, 18 KOs) made easy work of #8 IBF challenger Eric Molina (25-4, 19 KOs) in stopping the reluctant fighter in the 3rd round on Saturday night at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Anthony Joshua vs. Eric Molina – Official Weights
By Scott Gilfoid: IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua weighed in on Friday at 249 pounds for his title defense on Saturday night against American Eric Molina at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England. Molina weighed in at 237 ½ pounds, which is more or less in the same ballpark that he usually weighs in.
Joshua’s weight was within one-half pound of his career high of 249 ½ pounds that he weighed in for his fight against Gary Cornish in September 2015. If you remember that fight, Joshua bum rushed the 6’7” Cornish in the 1st round and blasted him out immediately.
Joshua vs Molina: Joshua says he might toy with Molina
By Scott Gilfoid: In a bad sign for the fans that will be purchasing the fight between IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and Eric Molina on Sky Box Office PPV, Joshua is talking about the potential of him toying with the 34-year-old Molina before feeding him to the lions. In other words, Joshua will carry the 6’4” Molina (25-3, 19 Kos) if he’s no threat to him before putting him out of his misery in their fight at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
It’s sad though, because why is Joshua fighting an easy mark on pay-per-view. This is not a good career-building move for Joshua to be fighting a guy who has little chance of beating him on PPV.
