Image: Donaire complaining that Arce won't agree to the deal offered himBy Chris Williams: WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (30-1, 19 KO’s) is complaining long and hard that 33-year-old past his best Jorge Arce (60-6-2, 46 KO’s) is making negotiations difficult for him for their planned December 15th fight. Arce isn’t readily agreeing to the money offered him and it’s leaving Donaire frustrated that he can’t get the fight signed.

Donaire said to Examiner.com “We already tried to ink the fight 5 or 6 times, but they keep on demanding everything. I have the belt and yet they’re still demanding? Arce knows I’m going to his lair. They know that I’m fighting though I’m still injured. Yet they still don’t want to get the fight done.”

Donaire complaining that Arce wants too much money

Image: Donaire complaining that Arce wants too much moneyBy Chris Williams: WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire’s hoped for December money fight/mismatch against little Jorge Arce (61-6-2, 46 KO’s) might not be taking place because Arce is asking for too much money for what Donaire’s promotional company Top Rank is willing to offer him. The problem is Donaire is getting a huge payday, reportedly over $750,000, possibly as much as a $1 million, and that leaves a small window for what Arce can get unless Top Rank is willing to find the money somehow.

Donaire said to Philstar.com “Our fight is not pushing through because they’re [Arce] demanding a lot of money…I already have a minimum fee. I have a set price. But they want more [than what’s being offered]. For them, I’m the biggest money out there.”

Arce: I’ll fight Donaire if I get what I’m worth

Image: Arce: I'll fight Donaire if I get what I'm worthBy Chris Williams: Former four division world champion Jorge Arce (61-6-2, 46 KO’s) is up for fighting WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (30-1, 19 KO’s) on December 15th, but Donaire’s promoter Bob Arum is going to have to loosen up his pocket book and find enough change to give Arce for him to want to take this dangerous fight. Arce won’t be bought with chickenfeed.

Arce told the Record.com.mx “I am ready, everybody knows that I am ready to fight at the end of the year…I would be happy to give him [Donaire] the fight, but I hope I get the right price. I’m not asking for the pearls of the virgin. I just want what I think the fight is worth…I think Donaire has fought fighters who were afraid…I can win…I’m not going to have any respect.”

Image: Arum wants Donaire vs. Arce at the end of the year in MexicoBy Chris Williams: Instead of looking to put his fighter IBF/WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire (30-1, 19 KO’s) in with WBC 122 lb champion Abner Mares of WBA champion Guillermo Rigondeaux, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum instead wants to put Donaire in with another aging fighter in Jorge Arce (61-6-2, 46 KO’s) and Arum wants to make this fight in December if Donaire’s injured left hand is okay by then. Donaire fought 36-year-old Toshiaki Nishioka last night in a painful to watch fight because of how boring it was.

Arum said to Dan Rafael of ESPN “If the hand is OK, I will try to have him fight before the end of the year in Mexico City at the new arena against Arce.”

Arce: Why did Donaire fight Vazquez Jr. instead of me?

Image: Arce: Why did Donaire fight Vazquez Jr. instead of me?By Dan Ambrose: Four time world champion and current WBO bantamweight champ Jorge Arce (60-6-2, 46 KO’s) doesn’t understand even for a moment why Nonito Donaire (28-1, 18 KO’s) fought his leftover opponent Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. earlier this month in winning a difficult 12 round split decision. Arce already did a job on Vazquez Jr. last May, knocking him out in the 12th round and giving him a real beating.
