Maidana: I have a great chance to KO Adrien Broner

maidana32434By Allan Fox: Former WBA light welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31 KO’s) isn’t predicting a knockout win over WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22 KO’s) in their proposed fight for November 9th, but he’s giving himself a very good chance of accomplishing that.

At the very least, Maidana expects to hit Broner a lot in this fight, and with Maidana’s power, it might not be good for Broner.

Maidana said to RingTV “One thing is for sure, I will hit him. I am sure that I have a great chance to knock Broner out.”

Schaefer working on Broner-Maidana fight for November

broner0009By Allan Fox: Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer says he’s working on putting together a big fight between WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner and Marcos Maidana. Schaefer won’t say for what date in November, but it seems pretty clear that it’s the November 9th pay per view fight he’s been talking about. Schaefer doesn’t want to say anything until the fights a done deal, and it’s easy to understand that.

Maidana’s manager Sebastian Contursi said to Dan Rafael at ESPN “We are working an agreement with Al [Haymon] in order for him to advise Marcos Maidana, which we think should be a great move towards getting the best fights for Marcos, especially Broner.”

Maidana to Broner: November 9th won’t be very fun

maidana543By Allan Fox: Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31 KO’s) and WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22 KO’s) went at it today on twitter with Maidana sending a message that Broner will be history on November 9th, which is when the two fighters will likely be facing each other on Showtime pay per view. Broner fired back with comments about Maidana’s England, or lack thereof.

Here’s the conversation between the two of them:

Maidana said on his twitter “@adrienbroner, [your] rap tour is about to end. Last show will be November 9 in Las Vegas. That night won’t be fun for him though.”

Adrien Broner says his next bout could be a PPV bout against Maidana

broner111By Allan Fox: WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22 KO’s) is saying his next fight could be a pay per view bout on Showtime. Broner has already set out his plans for his next two fights. He wants to face Argentinian sluggers Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31 KO’s) and Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32 KO’s) in back to back fights.

The Matthysse bout would be contingent on Matthysse beating WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia in their fight on September 14th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

If Matthysse wins that fight, and it’s very possible that he will, Broner wants Matthysse after that.

Broner said to Showtime “They’re talking pay per view. Let’s make it happen…My first pick is Matthysse, but he’s got a fight already, but Danny Garcia, I’m pulling for. I want to fight Matthysse. He’s the guy everybody’s afraid of, but if I got to fight a Maidana, I’ll go get a Maidana.

Broner to keep both 135 and 140 lb. world titles; wants Maidana next

broner444By Allan Fox: WBC lightweight and WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22 KO’s) said last night that he plans on keeping both of his world titles, and he said he’ll defend them when he sees a big fight in front of him in those weight divisions.

Broner also said he wants to face WBC interim light welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse if he can get past WBA/WBC light welterweight champion Danny Garcia in September in their fight on the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Saul “Canelo” Alvarez card at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Broner said to Showtime “Everybody isn’t Adrien Broner; everybody isn’t Floyd Mayweather. We’ll keep both [world titles]. If it’s a big name at lightweight or a big name at welterweight, I’ll fight anybody. If [Marcos] Maidana wants to fight me, I’ll f*** him up. They’re talking pay per view. Let’s make it happen.”

Maidana to Broner: Shut up and fight me!

maidana4543By Allan Fox: A day after a rant that came out of nowhere by WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22 KO’s) directed at #2 WBA, Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31 KO’s) and Lucas Matthysse, Maidana responded back to Broner telling him to shut up and fight him already. It was pretty funny stuff.

Here’s what Broner had to say on his twitter: “You damn fool if you think Chino Maidana can beat me. LOL! And when I’m done with this b*** Chino Maidana, I’m go f*** Matthysse up. Easy money.”

Broner: After I beat Maidana, I’m going for Matthysse

broner6545By Allan Fox: WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22 KO’s) wasn’t too happy to learn that WBC interim light welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse (34-2, 32 KO’s) is pulling for Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31 KO’s) to KO him when and if the fight gets made.

Broner didn’t take that news too well and earlier today he went off on his social media site saying he’s going to beat Maidana first and then go after Matthysse to beat him as well.

Broner said on his twitter “You a damn fool if you think ChinoMaidana can beat me. LOL! And when I’m done with this b*** Chino Maidana, I’m go f*** Matthysse up. Easy money.”

Rios picks Maidana to KO Broner

broner1234By Allan Fox: Brandon Rios says he wasn’t impressed with Adrien Broner’s 12 round split decision win over WBA welterweight champion Paulie Malignaggi (32-5, 7 KO’s) last Saturday night, and he scored the fight a draw because he didn’t see Broner as having done enough to get the win, according to Hustleboss.com.

Rios thinks stable-mate Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31 KO’s) will knock the 23-year-old Broner out if that fight gets made by Golden Boy Promotions.

Rios said to Hustleboss.com “I think Maidana knocks him out. Broner’s easy to hit and Maidana can crack. Nobodies touched Broner’s chin yet.”
